Does anyone know why....

Billetflow doesnt make a 2.8 pulley for us? I noticed there website was 2.7 and 2.9 and I was going to keep my 3.15 for winter use and do a 2.8 for the summer/spring. I have the 42.5lb injectors and I dont wanna do any lower than a 2.8 and I wanna play it safe. If I had to do a 2.9 is there much of a difference?

I guess I should mentioned I want to do a header and downpipe and not exceed my duty cycle of my fuel injectors too.

A better question would be "Does anyone know why everyone else makes a 2.8". The lowest you can go is a 2.7" without grinding the snout so why would anyone make a 2.8" and not a 2.7"

.1 of an inch won't yield any difference between 2.8 and 2.9, maybe 2-5whp at that.

.1 is about 1 psi and every psi out of the eaton yields an 8.6hp difference.

Incorrect, ZZP makes a 2.6 and you don't have to grind the snout.

^^^
Touche (zzp slipped my mind)

However, I think BF's hub, in general, can only go as low as 2.7"

Maybe Ill wait and do my header and downpipe first and have Rob see what my duty cycle is first before I change my pulley.

All cars are different. Not all will get the same.

What reason do you have for not wanting to go lower than a 2.8?

i don't think it would be enough of a difference for you to notice. Just get the 2.7 and call it a day.

Its my daily driver and I just wanna play it cool. I dont wanna get to extreme and I know getting a 2.8 pulley is pushing the duty cycle on the 42.5s and so the 2.7 is just to much especially if i wanna do anything else.

Well, since you are going to do a header and downpipe, go with with 2.9, since the 2.8 is at the limit, I'd say the 2.9 with header and downpipe will be close to the limit, and the 2.85 with header and downpipe might be over or too close to the limit. Since you want to play it safe and all.

Thats the setup im feeling. Im sure everything will max out the injectors right to where I dont need to upgrade them to the 60lbers. Just having a hard time figure out what header and downpipe I want now.
