downpipe CEL. help
alright.. first off sorry cuz i know this is a repost i just couldnt find the other one.. but anyway.. i put my used ZZP downpipe/high flow cat with my new magnaflow exhaust on the other day and after 2 days of having it on my CEL came on.. had it checked and of course it was the code(forget it) for the cat. Does this happen to everyone with an aftermarket downpipe and is there a way to fix it other than putting the stock one back on? Thanks ahead of time

I have a vibrant one and no CEL. I think there is a cel eliminator you can buy which will fix that. Or you can get someone with HP tuners to delete your rear o2 sensor.

it's fairly common, and the risk you take by putting on any downpipe. there's no problem, nothing to worry about. the sensor is reading more air than it's programmed for, so it's assuming you spit your cat out of the car. doesn't affect anything though. most people either delete the code, (may come back from time to time) or shut it off with hp tuners.

yeh HPT can delete that code which is a warranty void, or you can shance a CEL elimanitor, but if you plan on buying an interceptor (which i did) when ever it pops on you can delete it you self in 10 secs by pushing a button. So there are a few ways to do it but plan for the future
