Actually the dyno really isn't that happy. It's a very very accurate dynojet believe it or not. A foxbody mustang that is racing in the mid ohio meet has his tuning done on that dyno. There is going to be an article about it in our local paper.

Anyways, what is the smallest pulley the gm stage 2 hub can run, a 2.7 right??
yes...

Alright I thought so but just wanted to clear that up. I think I will just stick with the 2.8 and see what the killerchiller and ported intake bring me up too first. Then if I absolutely have to lean it out a tad and use a 2.7 I will lol.

blah the torque was taken at peak hp. They took my torque at 7k rpms. So at 6850rpms im at 280whp and 220tq basically. I will have them see what the torque is down low next time roffle. And they need to take it all the way up to 7 or 7200 rpms lol.

280 is decent yea, but not what i wanted to see.
Details on this? I had my car street tuned, then when I went to the dyno, the AFR was dropping consistently at a specific RPM and losing horsepower (which it never did on the street).

Yaaaa I have never noticed that. I just noticed that not as much air was getting into my engine and my afr was slightly higher then what it was outside on a wot run. Could be the meth, could be the tune, could be weather, lots of different factors though.

As far as your problem on the dyno, if it happens on a dyno it'd happen on the street.

Yeah, that's why my next purchases will be wideband and HPT - it was never like that on the street, so I have no idea why it randomly did that on the dyno (we had a wideband in when we tuned mine). Never had any hiccups or other signs of engine distress, so I'm just baffled.

Tune seems a little whack. I dunno. I can see you getting over 280whp with some adjustments, but not too much more.

As for your tq, they need to tell you your peak tq number, and your tq curve needs to be somewhat flat. Like mine, I made peak tq from 4000rpms all the way to 5100rpms. and my tq never varied more than 10-12lb/ft. THAT'S CALLED TUNING.

<3 I will have to look at my dyno sheet later. But they told me my peak torque WHEN i made my peak hp lol, so gay of them. Dunno why they did that this time around. Either way, I think once I get some tuning under my belt, this will be a little bit better. The killerchiller and ported intake manifold are what i wanna test though =P

didn't you get a dyno sheet? or were they that cheap that they couldn't afford to give you a printout? lol.

Killer chiller and ported intake manifold should show much better results. I dunno how much more since the testers are slack as ****, but I would think you should be damn close to 300whp on the same dyno.

I will take a picture later of it and get it uploaded. I am in to much pain to do it currently.

And by the way ralli, i am the d4mn tester for the killerchiller and ported intake, and I am NOT slacking lol. Josh and Sean were looking for a test for quite some time, and then we worked out a deal. I will be testing the killerchiller and the ported intake manifold on sept 24th, a day before my bday.

I will get that dyno sheet up later on, although would rather get a better one first lol.

First there is a little mis information in this thread.

I have found lean best tq to be rate around 11.7~11.8 and slow leaning up to 12.1~12.2 by redline.

Zach you dont need the 6 gph nozzle not for the mods you have you are sitting pretty where you are. You can fit the 2.7 on the stage 2 hub, wait on that though to make sure the numbers are more consistent for the next dyno time.

Definitely lean that pig out to 11.6-11.8 at least man. You're running too rich at the moment and loosing power/torque. Definitely no need to run a bigger meth jet if you are already running that rich. I'd bet you'd pick up some serious torque with some more tuning. I'll stay posted for the ported IM and Killer Chiller update.

By the way, how much is this Killer Chiller kit gonna run?

don't get upset. lol. I'm just frustrated cause I'm deployed still and I could have been the tester for all of that with all the dyno and scans already done. Damn military.

Hmmm.

So I have read it is better is start at 11.7-11.8 and richen up to 11.5 at the higher rpms. And now I have read it is better to start at 11.7-11.8 and lean up to 12.2...

confused....

me also... I was thinking the same thing....wouldn't we want it to richen up just a bit at the higher rpm range??

From my experince and time at the dyno that netted me the most power. Running richer up top dropped hp slightly

tune your car to what your motor likes. not what someone else says.

peak torque is 11.5
peak hp is 12.0

give or take a few
