Part of that was probably the hood reflecting the wastegate sound forward. It's really not that bad on the street. Quieter at 80 than my sc setup with 2 mufflers was.
But I have been told when I go wot it can be heard 3 miles away lol

you need to grind down some on the front (timing chain) cover for it to clear. zzp sells a modded cover which i opted for.

and to correctly run it with no chance of shearing off the keyway on the crank you need to get the keyway extended at a machine shop

Woah! That is very impressive! Money, alot of time and motivation. My 97 camaro SS with stock LT1 and a bunch of bolt ons only made 298 rwhp and 310 ftlbs of torque. I am very impressed.

I was referring to you speaking in lambda

Makes perfect sense to use it for lnf. Lsj much easier to use afr and eqr

Ahh, I do everything thing in lambda due to what seems to be a ever changing target afr due to my source for e85 floating around e80-e95 from week to week. My gauge outputs lambda and I have pid that converts to what ever the target afr of the week is.lol. lambada makes more sense to me anyway, a lot easier to understand on the fly especially when you don't quite know the actual stoich vaue if your fuel lol.

Let me clear up some misconceptions and give you guys some info on the Ecotec platform.

Peak HP and HP curve on the Ecotec platform is a factor of many things.
I have seen stock cam ecotecs peak past 7500rpm. it's pretty easy with few mods but isn't always ideal.

1. The smaller the pulley, the lower the rpm for peak HP. The blower loses efficiency at higher rpms and higher boost. Therefore the faster you spin it, and the higher the boost, the lower the rpm band. In no circumstance have we ever seen smaller than a 2.7" make HP. IN nearly all builds, nothing smaller than a 2.8 makes more power. Usually you make a little more torque in exchange for less peak HP. In this build, the pulley is too small for optimum performance.

2. Timing affects peak HP a lot. With E85, you can raise timing which raises peak rpm HP.

3. Normally after peak power, the HP will decline. If it stays flat, there is usually a limitation that is just flowing as much air as it can. In this car, it's the 2.5" exhaust. Our 2.5" becomes restrictive after 275WHP (unit with resonator and muffler). It's a trade off of sound vs. HP potential and the exhaust is designed for 90% of cobalts with stage 2/3, stock M62, etc. For guys doing cams, head, turbo, TVS, our 3" exhaust is a better choice flowing 50% more.

In my opinion this build would make 15 more WHP with a larger pulley and 3" exhaust although cracking 300WHP on an M62 is impressive either way.

Thanks for the input zooomer!

Well a 2.8 on the tvs shouldnt be too bad. In hoping to finally raise my rpm some.

idk if i feel like buying a whole new exhaust haha. Maybe one day, to get rid of all my zzp exhaust leaks :P well see what i make.
