this is exactly why i switched to a turbo. $2000 for the TVS, then i wanted the ottp long tube = $3000 and the exhaust will still sound like crap no matter the exhaust system. got a turbo kit for $2700, zzp downpipe for $200 and viola, car will sound good, i have more power at the push of a button and lots more torque

the problem is efficiency. and we all know the stock head and stock intake manifold isn't the most efficient. You increase the efficiency of your engine, you'll be able to use that 1900 like god intended.

eh, my exhaust sounds pretty good. But I see what you are saying. I'm just too stubborn to give up on the supercharger. I've waited this long, I can wait some more. Most of the stuff on my car is custom work anyways, it sounds as if I may have to just go custom with the blower as well.

when you get to the 1900 though, how much power does it take to spin the blower? that's a big ****

That's very true, no matter what, it's going to take power to spin a blower. But that's a downside all of us supercharged cars live with. The powerbands are freaking awesome though, and the simplicity of having a supercharger is so nice.

its not even that, I love superchargers, there powerbands win races, I have spanked many a turbo'd car with my lil sub 300 horse cobalt, its just after I get my head on whats thge next step? More boost? Ya but im almost completely pulley'd down on the M62 unless I wanna put a 2.4 on and blow up my sc in two weeks. So the tvs is the only choice, so 20 whp for whats now going to be a 2500 dollar sc, prices are going up folks watch for them, just doesnt seem like a good idea for something that still isnt gonna make me happy.

my tvs has been amazing since day one and now with a fresh engine build going down im sure im gunna love it even more, but some people are right theres only so much you can do on a supercharged setup unless like ralliartist and some have been talking about you somehow get the 1900 to work....

POWERBAND POWERBAND POWERBAND!!!

When will people understand this... the instant power and band that goes on for days is what makes alot stick with the supercharger!

Turbo's sure make more peak power, but their power delivery (unless lots of money went into the turbo and that persons shall know whom they are) are lacking vs. a supercharger!

the turbo vs supercharger band is a negated argument. thing called an anti lag box will spool up a turbo fast as ****, they're getting fairly common now and were copied from the aem ems system.

i won't get into the turbo vs superchargers though cause everyone knows each has benefits and downsides and it boils down to a preference.

If people are serious about making power with supercharger they'd be running 11:1+ compression with 100 octane minimum. Watch what a TVS will do then.

I chased a number for while. Its actually a very unsatisfying process.

You spend the majority of your time obsessing over some insignificant number until you hit it. Once you hit it, the obsession becomes worse chasing down the next number. I don't think I enjoyed the process as much as I could have.

NE Way.

Back to chasing 300whp on the M62! lol

blow your car up lol. The best idea if you are set on the tvs and "big power" is up the displacement. You've seen what ZZPs car made with the M62 with the 2.3L frankenstein engine in it.

dont know where the thread is this is from ZZP's site. I know they used 11:1 comp with their M62 build not sure if it would be wise with the TVS

my heads coming off soon whoever wants to buy it 1500 dollars. No port numbers but its been tested in the real world and it gave me 50+ whp from a direct swap, come with supertech 78lb springs and retainers, 5 angle valve job and ported exhaust and smoothed intake.

I would love to see a gain of 50 wheel with my head swap, I dont see that happening though with the m62
