Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler
Yup. Everyone was right. The Super Turbo is the ****. I stopped at a red light just after leaving my garage and thought my car had died. SOOO quiet compared to the Hahn muffler. So I now have a full 3" header back exhaust. Modified Pacesetter header with Vibrant 3" turbo flex coupler, modified 3" catless ZZP SS downpipe, modified 3" Hahn SS cat-back, Dynomax Super Turbo 3" offset inlet/center outlet muffler PN# 17769. I'm sure some of you want to murder me for hacking off the Hahn muffler but I can not stand the noise. On the upside I have a 3" inlet Hahn muffler for sale lol. But basically this thing is whisper quiet in the car at idle and light cruises. It gets a bit high pitched when you get on it, but clear to 7500 rpm stays pretty quiet. Quiet enough to hear the blower and exhaust pulses through the thin-wall Pacesetter header. I did get the big boy body though. It is literally the 9th largest case muffler that Dynomax makes. It is 20" long, 5 1/2" thick, and 11" wide. Yes it fits fine between the spare tire well, rear spring, trailing arm, bumper, all that. I attribute the size of this muffler to its quietness. I can't say the one that was the same case size as the VT they exchanged it for (14" x 4.5" x 9.75") would have worked so well. It was almost half the size of this ST muffler.
In summation though, if you want a quiet 3" exhaust, the Dynomax Super Turbo is the way to go!

I'm running one of those as well, although mine is the size smaller I believe. Definitely helps with rasp since I am catless, the exhaust pops do not sound very good compared to a straight through muffler...that's my only complaint, and my car doesn't shoot flames as often haha.

The chambered design is great though, and I'm sure it takes a while for the packing to blow out. Considering you could buy 4 of them for the price of one stainlessworks piece it makes a lot of sense to go with the dynomax. Its also made by Walker, which is a very reputable company.

I also just put one of these on and love it. I had a magnaflow on, it sounded great unil I put my header and dp on. It was just too loud. Not to mention at cruising speed everything in the car would rattle. All is well with the dynomax though. Oh yeah i have 3" from the cat back.

Drop in some 60s and you can rev that high too. In 6 years of playing with LSJs, that has always been my redline. Even on a 100% stock head and block on everything from basic pulley drops to Harrops to turbos to nitrous.

Too bad no one makes a 3" setup w/o a muffler so we can just choose our own.
I've used the Dynomax stuff for years. The packing will wear out, but the muff is inexpensive enough you can just get a new one.
I'd like to see photos of the install. That's one big muffler, but then look at the gas tank muffler that is stock.

For a tip I am just buying a Stainless Works 3" in 4" out, 6" body, round, angle cut, single wall tip. It was $45 shipped. Should work and look perfect.
