I even know italianjoe personally and have never heard anything about that even when he tuned me a couple months ago. Just cause I bought some seafoam last week can the fuel system be "cleaned" with something like that or anything off the shelf? Would there possibly be and bad effects from using something like that either by dumping it in the tank or sucking through the vacuum line?

seafoam won't touch it. brake clean won't touch it. there is a chemical in gasoline that dissolves it though.

Area47 what about the guys running a mix like E60 or E47? I am on E47 personally. I would think that some type of fuel system cleaner would work. The specific additive in gasoline just has to be found out to find out what cleaner to use. Seafoam says to mix 50/50 with gasoline when using in a fuel system cleaning system.

If someone got some gunk samples and tried out different cleaners then that would give you and answer. Has there been any service bulletins about this on flex fuel vehicles of any brand?

Ive not had any serious injector buildup either but I have noticed a little bit of film on the tips from time to time when I check them. The car hasnt seen 91 in over 3 years, but it IS good practice to run some gasiline through the system every once in a while. I just havent done it.
