Ebay cai or Brand name?
Alright the question is this:
What is better the ebay cold air intake or a brand name like Injen, AEM, K&N, or other?
The second question being,
is thier even a diffrence?
What is better the short ram style or the long pipe versions?
How do I protect from hydrolock?
and how hard is it to swap out the orginal airbox?
Thanks guys!

people all have different answers, basically name brands have been dyno'd, others have not. Most who get the ebay have no complaints though. Basically a CAI is just a tube with a filter... it just depends on diameter and shape really.
difference.... not really, but "you get what you pay for" will come up a lot. I'm neutral on this subject, it is almost as bad as a GTO vs cobalt topic lol
you have a ss/sc so you will use a CAI not a SRI no matter what. None are on the market for our cars for SRI.
Not hard... look at the how-to injen intake install

From what I have read the ebay intake is no different to the Injen. The only thing you will want to do is purchase a AEM dry flow filtre and a Hydro shield. The install is not all that hard and will take about 1.5 hrs for the inexperienced. You will require a CAI if you drive the 2.0 LSJ.
Thanks guys!

You will need to cut the ebay CAI at the very end of the pipe . The end is narrowed down a little bit and has caused CEL's for soem people that bought them . There's a few threads about cutting it around here somewhere's .

I'd say go with the eBay for a few reasons...
1) It's pretty much the same as an Injen
2) It's cheap
3) I have never seen a CEL (after the mod end mod)
The great thing about the brand intake is that if you decide to go with a bigger build in the future and decide to upgrade intakes too... your not loosing a whole bunch of cash.
Other that that, if you are planning a big build now, Rebel is having a GB for their 3" stainless intake.
