Ecotec Oil Filter Relocation Kit?

Has anyone found a Relocation kit for the ecotec yet, I would be interested in this for ease of filter change, being able to use screw on filters, as well as the ability to add another oil cooler, provisions for oil temp and pressure gauges would also be nice.

Would many people be interested in this or is it just me. If so are there any Vendors on here that would be interested in tackling this, and if so could we get a group buy up and running. For any vendor that would, this would open the doors for all Ecotec equipped cars.

Can you add oil capacity and another cooler with it though, filter change would be one benefit. Doing a pulley swap according to Eaton will increase heat production. I am more interested in the cooling properties that could be achieved

i love this cartridge design, no mess at all compare to my lexus and 300zx. i hate spin on filter after i have this cobalt. my hands are completely bone dry, free of oil unlike the spin on filter. oil start leaking once the spin on filter is lose. plus, its more enviormental friendly because cartridge use less material.

I guess I need to bring back my external oil filter setup. There was someone I thought on the redline forum that had one done let me see if I can find him.

Obviously missing the point, I want heat reduction and oil capacity, should have listed this first. Any one doing a turbo on 2.2 2.4 example would benefit from a better oil return and adding an oil cooler. People adding boost on the SC could further improve cooling. These are the types of reasons that I bring this thread up.

The only real kit for this requires machining the block, which is only really feasible when you have it out of the car. I'm doing one in a couple days, i'll post pics.

On an Ariel Atom forum they have a picture which shows a kit from Brammo? installed.

http://forum.atomclub.com/index.php?topic=8619.0

Is this the kit that you are talking about?

This would help with the TVS. Its not impossible to change the oil filter, but it ain't pretty. lol

Most likely wont be cost-effective if a vendor has to make something from scratch.

Well TMI is the company that makes the Atom now. Brammo USED to make the Atom.

I wonder if bolus will check in on this thread.

well sounds like OP or others want to add an oil cooler or bigger pan. Not sure if the cartridge filter cant support it or what, but it would be interesting to find out yes.

It's not something for filter access alone, it's to add a real liquid-air oil cooler and a bigger filter.

Stock pan is pretty well designed as far as baffles are concerned, have you looked inside of one? 6 qts is plenty in a 4 cyl.
