how many people would be interested a block off plate alone, or a complete kit. Show of posts please. Is there enough interested that we could get a group buy together, and if so which vendor on ss.net would be a good candidate to take this to for a solution.
I got an email back from Mark Swain of Ariel, he said that they don't use the ecotec any more but has parts left over. Does have the adapter, but requires machining the block.
I am thinking more like a screw on plate that would have a stem that could separate clean side, dirty side of oil flow, that you could run an air to liquid after the filter and return the oil in the same location. I bought a kit off of eBay as it was listed for the cobalt, needless to say the seller received a very rude email from me. But it got me thinking about a solution and I don't think it would be overly difficult for a machine shop to make the adapter/block of plate. Even with just that piece anyone could fab up the rest of the kit.

Replaces the stock oil cooler stuff with a plate that has fittings on it to run to a remote oil cooler and/or filter.
I'm gonna do it by replacing the entire unit if I do, the stock one also has a thermostat in it that bypasses the oil cooler until 107 degrees celcius, so almost 225 degrees before it start to allow the cooler oil back into the motor. Doesn't fully open until 120 deg C, so almost 250F.
I'm looking at making a plate that bolts to the oil filter housing where the OEM cooler mount goes. Unbolt the stock stuff, bolt the plate on. I can include the fittings for whatever sise hoses you guys would want, i'm guessing around a -8AN or so, but you decide and i'll figure on the price. Looking at right around $100 for the plate with bolts and whatever as long as I get a couple people interested. The fittings will be extra, I can tap it for whatever fittings you want to use if you want your own ones.
You guys decide, if there is interest, let's get a list going and i'll get a small deposit, order the material, finalize details on the fittings, and I could have them ready to ship within a week.

So we'd have to remove the current oil cooler?
Is there a way to do a drop in filter relocator into the current filter housing? So that we could use something like this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HAM-3310/?rtype=10 or http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HAM-3300/?rtype=10

there ya go tap the 2 holes that go to the oil cooler for drill anf tap for pipe to a/n fittings im using -10 fitting and building my own lines to run to the cooler or you can run them to an external spin on filter adapter like all4glh has posted links to and then to a external cooler

I'll have to give it a closer look tomorrow. The adapter plate i'd make would be easier for someone without the ability or time to modify the stock piece, and it would solve the thermostat issue, you'd get 100% flow through whatever you hook to it, bigger filter, cooler, whatever.
