Electric exhaust cut-out? Anybody?

Electric exhaust cut-out? Anybody?

Anyone have any experience with these on our cars? Mainly the SS SC. I have stage 2, catback, CAI. I dont have any knowledge on how the cutout works on Boosted cars. Ive dealt with them on all motor cars, but anyway, issues? suggestions? HP gains? hows it sound? back pressure issues? thanks

I know ralliartist did it, and he seems to think it made it a little better. I think it may have killed his low end a bit, but you may want to get ahold of him.

I used a 2.5" cutout after the cat. at the end of the downpipe. with tuning, you can use it to it's full ability. My tq line is flat. I know before tuning, it did feel like it killed the low end though.

I'm adding a header and custom catless downpipe next. We'll see how it does after some more tuning.

yeah keep me posted. it was nice on my firebird formula. i was just wondering about these cars.

It just vents exhaust before the cat, it will sound horrible even with the windows up however. Probably under 10hp. No real issues except install (weld) and you will likely automatically fail emissions. You should lose some minor boost as well if I remember correctly.
