exhuast question

i am thinking about buying a magnaflow muffler, just the mufler.. will this sound good or give me any power gains.. im trying 2 buy it at like advance auto or ordeer it off magnaflows web site.. is this a reasonablely cheap substitute 4 the cat back???

I think you will be getting more of a sound change than a performance change. There will be less restriction in the muffler, but as you are not changing the diameter of any of the piping, you are not removing any other restrictions.

I would say that the sound could be similar to a catback but you will not be seeing much for gains.

Dont cheap out and just get a muffler welded on that will cost you like 150-200, You can get a very nice catback for 500 or less. 2.5" is perfect. 3" is a too much unless you are over 300hp imo.

mandrelexhaustsystems has an entire magnaflow catback for like 250-300 depending if you want stainless. best budget exhaust IMO..
