okay i have a custom 2.5 greddy evo 2. when i had the resinator on it it was quiet but raspy, when i took off the resinator it got louder with a deeper rasp. you should do a 3in custom with the greddy evo 2 muffler and resinator for a nice deep tone. the muffler is a bit big though

why not just get the 3inch that way if you do more engine mods you will be safe in the future??? then you wont have to spend another 1 grand to change out the whole exhaust?? you aint going to silence it the whole way, and if ya do your going to spend a ass load on the resognator and that would be wasting your money. i have seen zzp 3 inch videos, and with a new header and downpipe, its still loud.. cant silence everything.. people behind you wont hear the blower but you will and so will people in front.. search up on youtube :hahn cobalt: and youll see the whole hahn exhaust kit which is 2.75 downpipe, header, and 3 inch exhaust, and you hear the blower pretty damn loud untill you see the back of the car which is loud lol.. but sounds awesome..

edit: to black06ss, love the hahn exhaust

im gonna get the zzp 3.0 downpipe connecting to a 2.5 cat back, id like to get it custom made with a resonator with a magnaflow muffler jsut to save some money.. most the restriction is in the down pipe i think with the 2" 02 sensor area.. i know 3.0 will give me a slight more, practically unnoticeable driving around, 2.5 will still get my hp gains plus keep it on the quiter side

2.5 pullied here....And I LOVE my 2.5 inch exhaust. Has a leak because I think the flex pipe is busted lol but not loud and not quiet. I still think 3 inch is a tad over kill..I'd say 2.75 is perfect.

ZZP header....ZZP 2.5 inch dp with hf cat...and 2.5 magnafow catback

which is it? 2.5 or 3.0? why would zzp post that on their website that the 3.0 isnt gonna give you that mihc gain. i will get a 3.0 if i need it, if i really dont, ill get a 2.5 mangaflow.. 3.0 im gonna get that zzp one
ZZP was saying that theres a big restriction in the header....basically you wont get much of ANY gain with a catback without getting a new header/DP (ZZP conveniently sells a midlength header/DP combo..2.5" or 3" even..depending on options. thats what i run, and its amazing.

and no, a 250hp supercharged car and a 250hp turbocharged car should have VERY different exhausts...split image doesnt quite know what he's talking about
go read a couple books split...id suggest Maximum Boost or How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems

If you don't want loud, then don't get my setup!

I have the 2nd loudest Cobalt i've heard to date, and that includes having been to 4 meets, 1 of which was out of state for me.

I have the ARK N2, and also no cat (XTC 2.5" de-cat), plus a CA header. Its def loud, which he dosent want, and at high rpms its gets pretty damn raspy, which some people would call "ricey sounding". I love the way it sounds, but I know alot of Cobalt guys are against it b/c after all, the Cobalt is an American car.

Everyone is spending all this ungodly amount of money on an exhaust when all you have to do is go down to your local muffler shop and pay 1/4 of the cost of a named brand exhaust and have the same effect.

sorry i said it wrong.. the header and downpipe combo from zzp you can get in either 2.5 or 3.0 downpipe and your choice of header primary sizes.. sorry i wasnt explaining well enough, lack of sleep

i wont go custom around where i live because the shops around here charge the same as aftermarket.. and member these companies have been building these exhausts, not some fabricated part that can leak and hasnt been tested or put through tuning tests.. i knew to many friends who has exhaust problems from shops around where i live.. id rather pay the extra money to be safe and not deal with the hassle.. it aint a 1/4 of the cost no way.. mendrel bent, stainless piping, good res. polished and all.. your gonna pay close to the same, may save 50 or so bucks but in my opinion it isnt worth it.. if you want to fabricate thats fine, but make sure to at least go to a very reputable place..

yea the magnaflow high cat option is what i am going with when i get the 3 inch downpipe for my car..

also you can get the wideband bung option to so that you can hook in a wideband like autometers or aems..

Edit: muffler is restriction roko.. factory muffler isnt to shabby, if your gonna go through all the trouble to build a exhaust, build the whole thing and no pussyfooting about it..

i know but for the piping restriction.. would be like.. not even 100$ of mendrel bending in stainless steel and remove all the restriction like i said in the piping it self..

but yeah man i know.. about the muffler its restriction.. it was just an opinion too keep it silent but removing half of the restriction... plus getting the ZZP Combo or 3" shorty headers 3" downpipe like i did..
