Gas Milage
Getting 27 hwy cruising and about 18-19 when I am driving a bit more spirited. About 800 miles on the engine. Hope it gets better. The supercharger can be a thirsty little bugger.
This is all through the DIC and confirmed via fillups and simple math.

I've only driven about 120 miles so far, but I've been avoiding the highway and sticking to local roads in order to try and break it in right. I haven't reset the mpg reading on the display, yet, so I doubt the accuracy of it. But it is reading 29 mpg right now.
I switched to the SS from a GTP, also. The GTP might get 28 mpg on the highway if I drive really nice (and I rarely do). With gas prices going the way they are, I might of gotten this car just in time...

I hit 31.1 yesterday cruising on I95 North. I filled up in Fredericksburg, VA and drove home to Rockville, MD. I reset the MPG read out everytime I filled up. Before I hit traffic on I495 around the American Legion bridge I was at 31.1 mpg and I was at about 29.9mpg but the time I got home.
I was definetly impressed. If you stay off the throttle you can definetly save some gas.

awsome that's great
I just called GM Canada today, and was told that my car (Cobalt SS/SC) was built on May 25th last week. She told me that the car stays at the plant for 48 hours, then it will take another 10 business days to get to Windsor Ont, so i'm assuming their shipping them by train and then putting them on trucks to wherever? Anyways, looks like i should have my car in about 2-3 weeks tops. Hope everyone is as lucky as I am, and start getting their cars soon.

In my SS, i've been getting 27.8 mpg on the hwy on longer trips, and with everyday driving going to work etc. I get about 22mpg so not to bad at all. The car has 2784 on it now, i'm glad i'm getting a beater soon!!!

I have been able to get my SS to 29.1 mpg purely highway and via the DIC. When I am in city, about 23mpg. Much better than the trans am ws6 that I traded in for my cobalt. Esp. with the rising gas costs. Gas here though dropped to around $1.90. Pretty bad when you consider $1.90 a good price on gas. I remember it for $0.65 a gallon.

Zinner is right, if you stay off the throttle you can save some serious gas. I cruised at very high speed today going from orlando to miami and got 23.4, but after filling up just south of miami with a little bit of freeway driving left and all the rest 'keys driving', I got 39.347!!!! Of course anyone who knows keys driving would understand why, lol. The little bit I drove around orlando the readout showed 17mpg, but I didn't verify that with the my own math...the others mentioned above I did though.

I have an SS and I dorve it home four hours from the dealership. I averaged about 65-75 on the speed to break it in and I averaged 32 mpg on the fuel. It's no prius, but It's a hell of a lot better than what i got in my v8 truck

Yeah well in my durango stock r/t 2000 gets 13 city, after i put a supercharger in it, and new exhaust, fuel injectors, and a couple more things i get lik 10 city and 16 highway, getting this cobalt ss will be a releif on gas.
