Like everyone has stated... OTT is the way to go. I have had the CA stage 4 kit while all the pieces of the kit were correct, but the time it took to get the kit, lack of communication, and bad tune is what killed them for me. My current set up is 2.8 60's full 2.5 exhaust, and cold air intake, and a good tune. My mods & numbers are what you will see with OTT's stage kit, also they have great customer service, as well as help you even if you can't or don't buy from them.

Injen intake & ZZP shorty header, ZZP catless downpipe, and GMPP cat back. I need a bigger cat back though

My opinion, GM. They made the car, they know it best. I know other performance shops offer kits which offer more horsepower for less money. But at least with GM S2, you are under warranty. If warranty is not the issue, go with a shop kit. Reliability wise, that your risk. Just remember, each car needs a specific tune and there is no tune like a dyno tune. Canned tunes in my opinion are just asking for it.
Good Luck

The best tune for our cars is a real world street tune..

You dont get actual dynamic of moving air when doing a dyno tune.

Perhaps. Unless you own an airport strip, it won't be easy to do. "Sorry officer, I was just tunning my vehicle, I didn't I couldn't do that"

Not really...

Your telling me you dont know a road where there arent as many cops on at one given time?

Majority of the private tuners dont really have a private road to tune on that i know of (maybe they do).

There is always a way. Maybe a small pull through the on ramp of a highway?

It would have to be a leveled road, no bumps, and at that, it must a day with no head wind etc... Check your tire pressure, make sure it's equal, to make sure you don't create resistance, etc...

So is the dyno tune better? or a street tune?

But you have to factor in that resistance, or the tune would actually be running differently then it would on the dyno..

street tune.

I'll chime in for a second here. I currently have GMS2, Injen CAI, and a custom 2.5" exhaust w/magnaflow cat. I was happy with it for a while, but then I found out that the dyno numbers are not all that great (something like 222 whp). And I'm as close to sea level as they get (unless you live in galveston). Yes it's safe, and I was worried at the time about warranty, but I know my baby is just begging to show me what she's really got. OTT's stage kit is dyno proven to have at least 246+ whp, give or take a couple of other mods.

I've never dealt with c/a, so I won't flame them, but I don't think they're a high priority on my list to deal with either. Honestly, I'm thinking of getting the OTT stage 1, but that depends if I can get a h/e some time soon too (maybe meth, not sure yet).

Factor in resistance of low air in tires? Head winds? How do you know the road you are on is level? Or uphill? or downhill? Sorry bro, from an Engineer's point of view, it's not accurate. The optimal tune for cars is when your gear ratios are at 1:1. The close as the cobalt gets to that is in 4th gear. Take 4th gear to the redline on the streets, you'll be touching speeds of 140mph at 7k.

Good Luck with your street tune.
I'm Done.

As I tune alot of cars I'm going to chime in for you. The best place to tune something is where it's going to be used. If its a street car you tune it on the street, if its a race car you tune it at the track, if you want a dyno queen you tune it on the dyno.

Let me chime in for you.
Your kit needs cooling mods for the supercharger.

"Many of you wonder why the Stage Three 76-mm pulley is the smallest pulley we offer. The reason is heat. Each incrementally smaller pulley generates more heat, and heat is bad for power. The Stage Three kit includes a two-pass intercooler endplate and recommends a second surge tank to mediate heat build-up. If we were to go to an even smaller pulley, we’d be getting into heat generation that would require things like an exhaust ported head and an ice box."

Let me chime in for you.

You dont need an ice box for a 2.8 pulley.

The kit would be too expensive other wise, so if they want cooling, they can buy it.

BTW... i like my street tune.. sorry you dont.

OTT's stg1 kit doesn't come with cooling mods but they always recommend them. The guys at OTT know what they're talking about and, to my knowledge, are all good guys. Not once have I seen them steer someone in the wrong direction and they're always around to answer my questions. Fast even offered to teach me how to tune the right way on his own time (and I've seen him offer the same to some other people). They are very helpful guys who know what they're talking about and ALWAYS reply honestly, even if it doesn't benefit their company. I would recommend them to anyone.

TTR is also awesome. I've talked to Aaron quite a bit and he's pretty good with getting you the best deals possible.

Im sure they did enough testing to see what what works and what doesnt..

Obviously, the point of tuning your car, is to shove in the face of the OEM that you can add power to the car despite what the company claims.

If you put a 2.8 pulley on, your car doesnt blow up. If you run it back to back to back yes you might heat soak a little, but just dont drive it like its a indy car and things will be just fine.

Those numbers (274hp and 306tq) was just on the stage 3 tune and a header? Yes, stage 3 tune/pcm. No header, honed manifold at that time.
Was this on the 100octane tune ? Yes

I'm planning on heading back to see if in fact the header, catless DP and Fidanza Flywheel does provide gains. Stay tuned.
