For the record:
Stage III is in the works. it is currently in the works to be the following.
-ecu calibration
-clutch kit
-axles/half shaft
-S/C pully
-Serp Belt
-injectors
-fuel pump
-??????LSD????????????(this portion is posibly going to be an add on to the stage kit)
this is all I have been able to find out so far. but I will keep searching, and post as soon as I find more.

I highly doubt they're going to add clutch/lsd/axles on a stage kit.
With numbers like that it's probably powerful enough not to have a warranty, and probably not emissions legal either (not that most people care about that).

Sources are:
-WWW.gmcommontraining.com under the course section Emerging Issues. Title Previously recorded IDL brodcasts "Cobalt SS"
-John Desilva (not sure exactly how his name is spelled) but he is my GM warrenty rep.
-GM Dealerworld
-GM service parts technical assistance center Rep.
here is also something else to note, what I described as stage III was orginally going to be stage II, the orginal stage I plan became what we know today as stage II. I would be happy to post some of the IDL brodcast videos on a public web site, but I don't really think proveing a point is worth loseing my job. perhaps there is another member who works at a dealership that has a bigger set of ***** then I do.

I wont' get my hopes up, and I don't think anyone else should either. If they do it cool, but if not oh well. I hoping we wouldn't have anymore speculation threads now that 1 and 2 are out. *sigh*

Right now the next "stage" is a Phase 5 or Grand Am Cup car

To the best of my knowledge GMPD announced in December that any further "Stage kit" development for the existing Cobalt SS (Stage 2+ or Stage 3) has been placed on hiatus until further notice. The will continue to develop parts, but nothing in a "kit"form such as the current ones. Until there is an official statement from GMPD that this has changed I cant see how anyone would put them into their plans. You can go ahead and speculate all you want.

For what it's worth, I met an SS/SC driver tonight who says his girlfriend's father works for Eaton. Claims they ARE working on a Stage 3, and it involves a new blower.
Take it with a grain of salt - like I did - but he says 375hp.
