Gm Stage Iii Pcm
Has anyone actually had to take the S3 PCM through emissions yet? I know it says that it's not emissions certified, but that doesn't mean that it won't pass. I'm on the fence about the stg III, but I don't want to have to flip it back out for emissions next year.

I run the GM stage 3 pcm. I don't know if it passes emissions but I do know it only takes 10 minutes to swap back and how often do you have to go through emissions?
I like it. It works very well. My afr @wot is about 11.4 which is perfect.
You also can't beat the 100 octane tune and nitrous tune.

Yes it does. By next spring or summer i'm sure someone will crack the pcm and be able to enable the ac through HPTuners.
Either way it's worth it.
It's worth it big time if you plan on running nitrous. That's the reason I bought it.
I have yet to play with the 100 octane tune but I will within a couple weeks.
I'll have a base run dyno, 50 shot of nitrous dyno and a 100 octane dyno on May 18th for everyone.

Works for me. The only reason I really wanted it was for the nitrous option. I just don't want the headache of running a wet system b/c there are too many factors that can go wrong. Don't really care about the AC I don't use it anyway, as long as the heat still works I'm all good. Thanks.
BTW, your AFR, was that plug in, or did it need to be tuned to that?

I'm wondering if anyone is running a pulley smaller than the stg 3. I have the CA 2.79 and wonder if it will lean it out any. It's only a 6 mm difference, and I know it kicked the stg 2 tune down a couple of decimals from rich towards near perfect, but I don't want it to be too lean w/ the nitrous if i use the smaller pulley.

The only way to know for sure is make a pass on the dyno or street and scan your car with HPTuners to see what's going on. AFR IDCs things like that. I'm not sure how lean that setup would be.

CT...may be a dumb question, but I know sometimes a car's defroster is connected to the AC compressor to take out the moisture. Did you just lose your AC, or is your heater/defroster gone as well?

@ the dyno day we had last week someone was running the stg3 pcm And the AFR's weren't anywhere near 11.4 , More like 12-13. Granted he was running a 2.8 but I would be wary of it.

the ecm will not be cracked. why? because hpt dropped any new things for the lsj ecm. the stage 3 is peachy for someone who doesn't want the hassle of changing maps, and building new ones for a car via hpt.
you will get more power out of the stock ecm vs stg3 if you know what you're doing.

I have the stage 3 pcm and a 2.8 pulley and my car is running great but im going to be selling it soon and buying a zzp pcm cause I want to step up to larger injectors and a 2.7 pulley. If you just want it for nos then it would be a great pcm for ya.

An easy fix you just wire in a toggle switch. There is a thread on her somewhere.

Well I guess you could tune for it but the only way that would work is if you were running nos all the time you went into pe mode and using the hp tuner box to control the nitrous.
Ok for a race car but not for a street car.
