While Rev It Up has a nice kit with the SMT-6 and they live close to me, but I haven't heard great things from people who have the kit unlike people with the INTENSE kit. Also, Rev It Up is coming out with other stages and such in the future as stated....

I know I want to get mine up to 350-400 horses, so Im going to upgrade the clutch ( along with many other parts ) before I reach that 300 horse mark.
On another point, no crap our clutches arent. Thats like saying our break pads arent warranteed.

How exactly do you plan to go about making 350-400hp and retaining your warranty?

Last I read the rev limiter will not change, and the power gain on the GM Stages will be less than the INTENSE Stage 3 and the Rev It Up Stages.
Since none of us really know what is going to happen yet lets chill and resume this dicussion when everybody has something out, rather than speculate.

i am the same way.. I congradulate Intense and RevitUp on going out and creating aftermarket parts for our cars... and taking the chance and spending probrbaly countless hours of making our cars go faster........
ever since their products have come out i have read, read, and read some more, many times my mouse has been over the buy button...
but when it all comes down to it, i need a warrenty with my car... as much as i want more power, i have to do it in a way which if something goes wrong i will have Full GM technicians that will fix it..
Yes it is more money, no we dont know exactly what GM Stage kits will do, but WARRENTY is what will keep allowing me to bring my car in for problems and i think the xtra money for the product and the install is well worth it....

I know quite well how to drive a manual equipped car, the fact is, the clutch will not hold the power!
Once you little wee wee's put some REAL tire on the car that will get some REAL grip. You'll ALL be replacing clutches. MARK my word's
And dare i ask how much power your cobalt is putting thru the clutch? Thought so!

^^^^That's awsome. You definately tell it how it is. Power can kill clutches just as easily if not faster than a real crappy driver. People must realize that stock clutches were not designed to hold the extra 50+ hp and torque!

Dealing with intense w/ the Grand Prix community, hands down i'm going to go GM. (Or ZZP when they pull out whatever it is underneath their hat.) I've read to many negative post about Intense to take a chance myself.

The way it is looking with the prices of the Staged Kits from GM, I might go Intense to save money.
GO Intense!

Not only that, but all Ive seen is nothing but problems with the Intense kit and people complaining about how it doesnt work right.
From this Ive concluded the following about the GM Stage kits vs Intense:
GM:____________________________Intense:
Warranty Backed_________________No Warranty
Fully Functional___________________Possible Problems
More Expensive___________________Less Expensive
CEL Fix With Reflash_______________CEL
Power Gains Huge(1+ sec off 1/4mi)___Power Gains Comparable/Less To Stage Kits
Coming In Late March______________Out Already

Sorry to everyone if I sound bias, but I feel the GM products are going to be much better. Not only that, but theyre GM!!!
They have a full warranty, and the reflash will fix the CEL problem associated with the CAI's!!!
Soooooo.......
-I give GM stage kits
-And the Intense kit

Do we know for a fact that we can run any of the CAI's kits out there and not get a CEL if we have the GMPP Stage 2 kit?

Yeah I didn't realize how old this thread is.....I just saw a claim about the CEL being killed off by the ECU reflash and thought I'd try my luck and see what folks say. I'm still not doing a CAI. The only thing I'd go for is a K&N drop-in but I'd rather add the GMPP Header and Corsa exhaust.
Any problems with the intense out there? GMPP Stage 2 is not slow at all on the street. That much I'll say.

I know intense Cobalt SS/SC will put down more power and it would show on the street too but I like my warranty *for now* and the GM upgrades have given me plenty to smile about.....as always though once you are fast you just keep wanting to get faster.
