Good news 2.0 peeps!
Thats right GM is NOT dropping the SC cars for 2008! WOO HOO! I know how do yo know right? My friend Jason called me with his new copy of Motor Trend magizine and it says the SC 2.0 is an option!
Bad news for you is that the 2.2 and 2.4's are supposed to get a HP jump by 20 more ponies. Don't have all the details, he said he'd bring the mag over tomorrow and when he does I'll post as much info as I can for you guys.
BTW it doesn't say anything about a white SS/Sc either.

I hope this is right... I don't want my car to die off so soon - I've only had it for 6 months.
It also supports a bigger aftermarket if it sticks around for another year, no problem with that at all.

Thats the ONLY thing I can think of too. It said the HP jumped up by 20 horses yet mileage and emissions remained the same. I don't see any other way to get it to do that does anyone else?

This is total bull.
No way Chevy introduced two new engines in the Cobalt for the 2008 model year. Think about it for a minute now. We've seen the dealer ordering guidelines that have no SS Cobalts on there at all... and now Motor Trend breaks the news?
Come on.

Motor Trend breaks news al the time man, in fact car companies clamp down on some stuff just so they can anounce it in magizines. Besides dealers are completely clueless as to whats coming out till it arrives on thier lot. Remember I worked for one for almost 4 years? Well they didn't know the Cobalt would be super charged till I told them!
You can't rely on the dealers bro they have no clue.

Sorry, I gotta call BS on this one too.
Everything I have read said the LSJ is dead. They have no production plans for it anymore. And you can't get 20 more horsepower out of an engine by magic. In 2007, the L61 got a new exhaust cam and head ports that gave it a couple more horses. Getting 20 more would require either a change in compression (requiring the use of premium gas, which they won't do), or some kind of major intake and exhaust system change, which would screw up their 50 state emissions.
Even if I see the article, I still say it's a magazine, and not a GM publication.
