Having some problems...

Just got my OTTP stg. 1 installed and im throwing a code for "random misfires". Im thinking i should just get it tuned at a local shop...any thoughts?

did you contact the guys at 0ttp? sounds like it would be a reasonable first step

Did you install new spark plugs? What were they gapped at?

i set the plugs that came with the kit somewhere between .035 and .040

did you use a tool? becasuse somewhere between .035 and .40 is a decent difference.

used a tool. it doesnt even idle smoothly so it cant be spark blow out...i will set it to .035 though

ottp does great work with tuning, I would be surprised if it was a tune issue. I would contact ottp and give them your exact mod list and see if there could be a mix up of some sorts. Ottp is a great company with great people and I am sure they will get this issue resolved.

However if they don't I recommend that you purchase hptuners yourself and learn how to tune.

my plugs are gapped at .045 works amazing for me... did u install everything ur self??? is it the right pcm? i sent them my pcm and got back a malibu pcm and mine did that but they fixed it immediatly.

how could you tell it was for a malibu? was the pcm different physically?

Yep, that's random misfires. It's pretty common with the OTTP kit.

x2 mine still does it.. try to run the best gas you can. That helped solve my problems. I run ethanol enriched 93 octane from walmart

yep that code is pretty typical i got it a few times. havent gotten it on again ever since i cleaned my tb. and took out all spark plugs and putted them back on again.
