and its that much louder? I have a 2.8 sitting here in my room but need to get cooling mods and injectors before I get it on, wonder how much louder that will be.

 

mine might be louder, or it might be the seat in pants feeling especially when I put the pedal to the metal.

 

the stage 2 belt was tight because thats for smaller pulleys than 3.0 from what i understand

 

haha he has a 3" pulley. Its tight but it will fit. Dont worry about it if your stock belt is fine. Save it for when you need a new belt.

 

damn. i went thru hell to get my stock pulley off. bought the zzp stage 3.

went to auto zone to rent there pulley puller (didnt work) went and bought a pulley puller(to small) went to 4 differnt macine shops (no one could take it off) went to 2 or 3 mechanics (would not touch it) finnaly got sent to fast lane performance witch is like a 45 min drive.

walked in the place and walked out 10 mins later with the pulley off. cost me 60 bucks tho

The stage 2 kit is a 3" pulley, so the stage 2 belt will fit it... you just aren't strong enough apparently!

 

Yea stage 2 belt is made for the 3.0 pulley. Its not that hard man. Seems like your missing some of the tools any LSJ owner should possess.

 

I had a hard time getting the stock belt to fit with the oversized tensioner pulley and 3.0" s/c pulley. I tried a few times, got a bit frustrated, took a smoke break, and came back to only have the belt slide on with ease. Don't you hate it when that couldn't happen the first time?

 

Thats what happens when you do it right!

 

I worked late the night before, woke up early that day with very little sleep, worked 5.5 hard hours without breakfast or lunch, installed front brakes on my car, modified the tensioner bracket, and then finished the car by installing the belt. I was tired, hungry, and ready to go home.

 

What did you do to the tensioner?

 

Replaced the stock 2.5" pulley with a 3.0" pulley from ZZP. I didn't have a stage 2 belt.

 

gotcha. I was gonna replace my tensioner for when i drop to a 2.5 for the track. but i dunno...

which one? the bigf**ckinhammer, or the giant ass crowbar. Snap on didn't have an lsj section so I just settled with regular tools.

Please do not do this ^

You should never, and I stress never, use heat to remove a pulley from a blower.

The stage 2 belt was designed to be used with the stage 2 3.067" pulley. If installed correctly it will fit his 3.0" pulley no problem.

 

Pulley boys make a tool that takes tension of it very easily. its like 50 bucks and is a must have.
