Same thing man, i hate doing that crap. But i'd rather do the work, rather then pay someone to do it. Shop here wanted to charge me $300 labour to install my HID's. I said **** that ill do it. I did get 4 resistors, wires and a adjustable resistor ($100 value) free from them though, haha.

The relay just makes everything alot easier. I wouldnt have the slightest clue how to wire it up without them. The guys on the srt-10 forums helped me out with this and i didnt really like the idea of running 2 wires to the battery, but i finally gave up on trying to wire it up as per the diagram the shop gave me. Spend 30 mins on each headlight, went outside and it worked perfect. All you need man is 2 relays, about 10ft of red wire, 2 15amp fuses and 2 fuse holders and thats it, costs like 30-40 bucks max. Everything will work like stock

and 2 resistors as well

yea, pretty much the same thing. As long as you have a 15amp fuse on the wire running to the battery you are good.

14 gauge wire and i believe its a 50watt resistor. Says 50W6RF on the resistor.

Just follow the diagram i showed you. Just make sure the resistor and the fuse are in the right spots. Otherwise something could short out. As for the ground wire, i just tapped into the ground wire in my wiring harness, pretty sure u can do the same one the cobalt as well.

When you buy the relay, it will have a diagram to tell you what wires go on what post. For some reason the relays i have, have 5 posts on it, but i only used 4 (ground, fused wire going to battery, wire to lamp bulb and positive wire from the HID kit.

Also make sure the resistor isnt touching anything, they get hot as hell and burn ****, i just learned that. I took my headlights back out tonight to re-align them and noticed the resistor melted its-self to the back of the headlight.

dont know if it was said already, but 05-06 drl's are the turn signal bulbs. so no need to pull them.

07-10 drl's are the low beams on less power...which is why the hids flicker and the fuse needs to be pulled

The DRL fuse is not your problem. If you remove it its just gonna disable your DRL marker lights.
