i granny shift and don't launch. But I do like to put it in a high gear like say 10mph and put it in second and the let it rip to 6K rpms. or put it in 4th at 60 and let it rip to 5K-6Krpms. Without getting a ticket. lol. I don't beat on it, but I'm definitely gonna break it in good. I already raced a 5.0 when it had only like 430miles on it and beat him from a 40 roll to 120 granny shifting at 6K rpms by about 2-3 cars. He wasn't stock and wasn't happy.

Hysterical. I drive about about 50 miles each way to work and back.
Second day I got it I opened it up to 120.
I drive it on the highway at a normal pace of 80-100.
Ive got almost 4K on it and no issues.

My car has a little more than 430 miles on it. So far, i revved it to around 4-5k a lot and mixed up my speeds. I wasted A LOT of gas revvin it up so high. The thing im worried about is that i did a lot of engine braking because i thought that was good. I also went over 5000k a couple times but most of the time it was only up to 5500k.

According to the manual, you arent supposed to rev past 5000k or down shift/engine brake. Also, you arent supposed to step on the gas all the way either which i did a few times.

Do you guys think im gonna have a lot of problems wit my car in the future? I wish i read the part about breakin it in sooner
I drive my car like I stole it, and that was right from the start. There is a neat article about this and you know its aurguable but some say its better to run it hard when you first get it. Wish I had the link to it...maybe thats why my car was a freak stock and modded lol. No probs yet, but thats what warnity is for.

I agree with everyone else, she's a Women, if you make her scream the first day she'll be good to you, and want it all the time. Break her in Hard. I also think, If I'm going to break it I should do it under warrentee, so I know what to be careful of when I'm out of warrentee.

a common misconception is to break it in gently..

ask any engine builder... BREAK IT IN HOW YOU ARE GOING TO DRIVE IT.

I broke my car in piece by piece, literally! Valvetrain broke destroying the first engine, on the second engine the headgasket blew, and then I beefed it up. No problems since then.
