How much "popping" from exhaust is normal?
Okay.. So I have Stage 2 and K&N CAI and GMPP Sport catback... And of course under deceleration and between slow shifts the exhaust pops.
I've heard this is normal but I haven't see to many videos with as much popping as mine. So is there anything possible causing this or wrong with the car?
And it started after I got Stage 2 installed and was even more noticeable after I got the GMPP catback. Is it simply because GM's canned stage 2 tune is very rich for my car?

Oh don't get me wrong I personally love the sound, I was just wondering if there could be too much which might mean something wrong with the car. But i guess its just running rich

mine popped a ton with a shorty header, i don't hear it pop so much anymore after my long tube installed, it all depends, i've also heard popping happens more when you have more leaks in your exhaust system (it will also whistle too).

When im coming down off the throttle (I have a 5-speed so I can rally run it out), at about 3k and under it sounds like im shooting off fireworks, lol. Kinda like an SRT-4. Sounds way badass next to or in between concrete barriers. I love it.

I do the same thing under overpasses. Hit about 3 grand, then let off. I love the sound of the exhaust popping a little, but sounding like fireworks would be a bit excessive, though.

woooooooooooowww.
popping isn't a good thing, nor is it back pressure. the popping happens in decel because of DFCO (decelerate fuel cut off) kicking in and not having properly tuned offsets. unspent fuel is being released into the exhaust while its still burning.
if your popping under acceleration you've got problems. your more than likely hitting lean spots, bad timing, or something as simple as an exhaust leak.
