Question How small of a pulley?

Souldn't be too hard to answer my question.. But I just want to make the right decision and not f**k up my car haha. How small of a pulley can I run on my balt with GMstg2/Header/Downpipe/Cat-back/Intake? I have the GM stage 2 pulley on right now. Thanks.

Really? Why? I thought supporting mods (i.e. bolt-ons) allowed for a possibly smaller pulley?

You would need a serious tune and bigger injectors if you go smaller then the 3" pulley.

... 2.9 no problem with your setup... many people run that setup fine. If you drop to 2.8 get 60lb injectors and tune (can also get cooling mods but not necessary)

x2
I ran a 2.9 n 42s on a custom tune for a long time. But like said above i wouldnt go below that. You'll max out your injectors.

Alright so 2.9 is sounding convincing.. I really don't have the money for 60lb. injectors and a tune right now haha.. Gotta love Christmas

I'm on the GM stg 2 tune though. Still safe to run a 2.9 right?

2.85 is THE SMALLEST you want to go. Bottom line.

I'm running a 2.85 that I bought from a friend that ran it for over a year without issues.

It bumped the torque up a bit, and my car runs smoother than it did with the stock stg2, but my gas mileage suffers for it= went from 27 to 23

Hmm... Now I'm debating whether or not this is convincing enough for a 2.85

Most likely a 2.9 would be optimal. I will not be stupid and run too small of a pulley knowing that my car can't support it.

you'll need a cooling mod for sure

and I'm thinking of getting a 2.9 just to see if there's a difference

Alright. Seems like 2.85 is borderline safe/unsafe for 42.5lb injectors. Looks like it will be a 2.9. Now my question is.. Are there any differences in performance from a 3.0 to 2.9? Noticeable? Anyone?....

Yeah that's what I thought man.. So I don't even know if its worth changing the pulley after all.. At least until I get 60's and a corresponding tune.

yeah u can tell a little difference but not much...i mean but for $50 bucks new or cheaper if u can find a used 2.9 its worth it...boost builds up a lil quicker than with the stage 2 pulley
