As a couple of you know us local guys in Dayton went together and bought HP Tuners. I was working with Killernutz last saturday and we made a few changes to the stock configuration but the last couple days I noticed some issues. First off, we decreased boost in first for better WOT traction in first down to 5psi, disabled AC above 4400prm, made sure all tables were set for full boost in 2-5, lowered the temp at which the fans kick in at from roughly 210 to 195, and bumped my rev limiter from 6.5k to 7.1k. We did not have time to change any of the a/f tables, and have yet to flash in the change for the maf fail signal up to 12000hz. Highest duty cycle of the injectors we saw was roughly 68%. Now here is the problem........

Saturday it all seemed fine above 6.5k, sunday I noticed a little hesitation in rpms above 6.75k and it felt like the car fell on it's face. Didn't run it above 6.5k again til last night and same results. Above 6.75k the power seems to fall on it's face and the rpms climb as if i was WOT at 30mph in 5th (which I wasn't lol) after 6.75k. I did have a lean code pop up on monday and the dealer checked the code while my sunroof trim was getting looked at. It went out Tuesday and came back on wednesday night. Any suggestions from those with HPTuners would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what the fix is, so just be patient til we can test it tomorrow. I think I'm just going lean up top. I'm getting better spark plugs today and we'll be adding that change for the MAF fail signal. It seems odd tho that i'm only lean at 6.7k+.....We're datalogigng this bitch tomorrow. If all else I'll just have to invest in injectors.

Change your MAF fail freq to 125 instead of 120 thats should fix the problem.

For all thsoe interested, this is the fix for the hesitation.

OK, I had this problem all of last week. The solution I found was NGK BKR7E spark plugs (one step colder), change the coefficent of the a/f table to 1.25 above 4.5k causing the a/f table to read near 11.8, bump that MAF fail signal from 10000 to 12000 (not sure if it's 10000, or 1000, just make change the first two numbers from 10 to 12 in the table). I also bumped my piston protection to 5000. SHe now runs perfectly fine. These are the only changes I have done and my stock injectors are only running at in the 70% range at 7k rpm. This should fix it for you.

yeah but what was the fix? lol you had alot of **** going on there if you had to change all of that. Not only did you lean it out in the pe table, but you also extended your maf fail frequency which could go either way(were you seeing over the maf fail limit when logging? like I asked you to log hz did you guys do that?) Not to mention you changed plugs, moved piston protection up, etc...too many variables changed to know what ACTUALLY fixed it IMO.

Yes at least it got fixed, great, but nobody can really learn from your post which I think is what everyone needs right about now.

OK, then let me clarify. The only dif in my tune prior to the changes and the tune Todd currently has(which is what my tune was when I had issues) was he had one step colder plugs Our cars are identical other than my exhaust. he had no issues and the only diff was one step colder plugs. Him and I are both sure it's the plugs that made the difference because we changed my plugs, took a test drive and it was fine. Then we made more changes which leaned out my A/F and got even better results.
