Im going to chime in on here.
I've got the Hurst Short Throw shifter, The shifter is of awesome quality, it's light years ahead of the B&M everyone purchased for there car. I will state the instructions on the Hurst Shifter are not very good at all. They are lacking diagrams and some steps in the process. To install the shifter though is relatively easy enough.
When installing the shifter the trick is to mark the second shifter cable (located closest to the passenger side) with a VERY easy to see visible line (like a marker or sharpie will do it) when the car is in 4th gear. Also, do not get intimidated when having to remove some parts off the old shifter to the new one, it's easier then it looks.
I have pictures if anyone would like to see them send me a PM and I will be more then happy to accomidate. The reverse lock out also will stay in tact assuming you set the shifter up in the same fashion as you pulled the old one out and lining up the shifter cable with the marker line you made. That is key!
All the shifts are shorter and more crisp and 3rd gear/5th gear are like almost on top of each other. 5th gear is no longer all the way over and up it's like 2-4 cm's over from 3rd. Lot of people get this screwed up thinking that they didn't align the shifter cable correctly and they lost 5th when infact it's just moved over alot closer. If I can I will show pictures.
BTW, Aaron would have had my business if Hurst didn't put these on National Backorder last year Good seller and if I didn't buy from another guy this deal is a wallet saver!
