I just ordered it but i hear that people r having some trouble. Please can someone tell me that it went in good and also someone said it didnt make a difference in how short the shifts were good...or is there another short throw shifter that might work better, any suggestions would be great help thanx.

Ive had mine now for two months now. Its hard to tell a difference from the
stock shifter because the stock is a short throw too.Its does have a slight firmer
feel to it but thats about it.The instalation is pretty strait forward just take your
time and dont skip any steps.The only thing is you might have to adjust your cables
to shifter.

I played around with a friend's hurst shifter...and it doesn't feel any different than stock

It's a little better than stock. Not by much though. It does however not float around in gear as much as the stocker does. So that is good. It's also a better looking piece. lol

IMO - its much better than stock in looks, feel and performance...

The shifts are shorter and the distance between 1st and 5th is cut nearly in half...

Install went good, just keep in mind that its hard to manuever your hands/fingers under the shifter & brackets

I think its a better shifter, it can be debated on how much it reduces throws, but it does feel alot better than stock for sure. I think it was worth the cash and the install myself.

Im assuming you know how a true short shifter works right, and that
a GOOD short shifter, will still sit in relatively the same spot/height as the stocker....
just the angular distance is altered.

I just installed mine last week and I like it a lot. It does have a shorter throw. Not by a lot, but it is a lot firmer and easier to nail gears. The throw from 2nd to 3rd alone was worth the money. After some minor adjusting to the left cable, every gear hits solid, and reverse is nearly perfect with the lockout. But I use to have a lot of trouble hitting in between 1st and 3rd when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, and I literally can't even do it on purpose with the hurst. Its like it just slips right into gear. Definitely worth a measly $150.

the only complaint i have about mine is after its been baking in the car from the sun it is hot as hell.

I have had mine for about three months now and love it. The throw is only a little shorter than stock, but it just feels so much more solid than factory.

I have had no problems with my hurst shifter, i love the look of it and the feel. Only slight downsides i've noticed is that it gets ***** hot in direct sunlight and the shift pattern on the knob is kinda wierdly painted. I had to adjust my cables to get 5th gear and reverse in the right position, but after that it works great.

i love mine, the throw is just slightly shorter than stock, but it feels so much better than the stock shifter

Come feel it in 115* its feels like a god damn iron. I think I would rather have my stocker

all i gotta say is: it is a heavy, solid, short throw shifter, and it looks good, thats exactly what i paid for and thats exactly what i got, i like it, but damn it gets hot when its summer, i might have to start throwing a hat on it when i get out

I got some windshield visors and suprisingly it helps somewhat with the cast iron palm cooker. Just the regular old silver cloth ones from target

the main difference I noticed is the weight, and its a bit shorter.. but the weight helps a lot.. its heavier.. makes for a easier shift
