I Got a Free Header...

Check it out...

I let Brad (ralliartist) use my shop for a good 4 hours and had a mechanic hook him up with some free exhaust work, and in return he got me this!

Its for a cavi.

Im wondering if anyone on here even knows the brand? if it will fit on my car? what type of gains i'm looking at? etc. Or if I should just sell it?

If I do end up putting it on my car, I'll bead blast it, mill the flanges, and heat wrap it so it looks nice and pretty!!

Oh and check out the new pics of my baby!

the guy that had it on his supercharged 2.2ltr ecotec cavy said it killed his low end, but then again, he couldn't get it to seat correctly at all. That's why I told neb07ss/sc to get the flanges milled to flatten them out.

anyone know what brand header it is? cause the cavy guy got it used also. So none of us know.

Make your car a true dual exhaust? that would be neat to see.

IMO, true dual exhaust can't be done to a 4 cylinder. Only v6 and up can get that.

there is dual outlets to the header, basically cylinder 1 and 3 merge into one outlet, and cylinder 2 and 4 merge into the other outlet. I could custom make pipes that go off of each outlet and run true dual exhaust....

But i have a $700 dollar ark exhaust system so i'm problly not going to go that route even though it would be really neat to try

that is a tsudo 4-2-1 header for a j-body. you only have half of it, you will need to purchase the other part used or fab it up yourself as tsudo no longer makes this header. a friend of mine had it on his cavy, it would always blow the basket out between the top and bottom peices. for the most parts its a cheap tiawaneese piece of garbage. he ended up selling it and putting a CTI cobalt header in, but as he found out, the cars are very different in that department. im not even sure the cobalt has enough room for that header

I've only got one word for a dual exhaust on a 4cyl. GAY, and your car will be slow as hell if you do that.

I still think Tim at your exhaust shop can make it work. I'd try it. All he has to do is fix the flaws. Mill the flanges, put a new flexpipe on it, and make a custom downpipe.

Not going to fit. I don't see a reason for the dual flange outlet but whatever...that's not the issue. The pipes go too high and I think the inlets are too big but can't tell from just looking at it.

nah he has it all except the gaskets. PS-->the vibrant header/dp is made in taiwan and it's not a piece of garbage nor is it cheap.

It's a stupid idea on a four cylinder because it's not in a v-configuration. Don't v configs have two exhaust headers, hence you can route the exhaust together or seperate it? Hence v-6, v-8, v-10, v-12.

I can get all the gaskets and make all the custom pipes, my dad owns a custom exhaust shop, show anything like that isn't a problem at all...

I definetely am worried about it going to high, im going to measure the inlets tommarow and see if they are the same...

I guess all i can do is try to make it work

I've been doing some digging, and that header I gave you looks very similar to this one....

http://www.lmperformance.com/3098/23.html

I say give it a try. It's all ecotec and it says it's designed for good midrange tq.
