yeah...i honestly think it's the belt more than anything. it's my buddy's old belt from his redline. it's probably 2 years old, used, and it sat in his garage for like 7or 8 months before i even got it. there's no cracks or visible damage, but that doesn't mean it's not hardened or damaged in some way. i'm hoping by doing the idler pulley and using my oem belt, that i know is perfectly fine, this will solve my problem.

No. I wont get a chance to try it until friday when my brother and i grind down the belt tensioner and install the new idler pulley. We didn't do it in the first place because we ran out of time, and had to get my car operational quickly. so...i grabbed my buddy's old stage 2 belt and slapped it on with the stock idler pulley, and away i went. so...i WILL try the oem belt...but not until friday.

UPDATE
Problem solved. Got the new idler pulley on with the stock belt, and all my problems are gone. No slipping noise and no loss of power. It totally WAS the stage 2 belt i was using. i'm still boosting 15-15.5ish, but it's solid and pulls all the way up to 7200rpm without any noise, slipping, or loss of power. The supercharger sounds SICK at high rpms. it's crazy that i can hear it over my exhaust. Now i have to control my lead foot...i've already seen a 3.5mpg drop in my in-town gas mileage since i put on the new pulley

I might not have had this issue if i had used a new stage 2 belt. the stage 2 belt i was using was an old belt my buddy had on his ion redline. I imagine something just wasn't right about the belt and was giving me all sorts of hell. the oem belt on the larger idler pulley was much more difficult to put on, which leads me to believe the stage 2 belt was stretched and was not taut enough to grip the supercharger pulley at high rpms. I could be wrong, but that is what i believe the issue was. Either way, i'm 100% OK now, and i am enjoying my OTT stage kit to the fullest.
