i want to run nitrous!

ok, my mods are basically full bolt ons but ill explain to give you all a better idea. bad mab header, 2.5 catted zzp dp, gmpp cat back, zzp dual pass, opt. B tank, zzp h/e, 1 step colder plug, zzp 1.0 pcm, AIS stage one meth kit. phenolic spacer/throttle body spacer tapped for meth/nitrous. right now im running a 2.7 pulley, i have a 3.0. i want to run nitrous but my question is, dry or wet? iv done research and i get mixed answers. personally i want a dry shot, and only a 30 shot no matter what. what are your opinions? i just dont want to jump into this and blow it up. i know nitrous a great power adder if done correctly and it can be reliable, so thats how i want mine to be.

Do a wet shot. At the end of the day it is much easier to tune for, and will be more forgiving. It reduces IAT's, and will give more power for a smaller shot. The ultimate goal is to not have a lean or rich condition and toast your motor, get some wet!

Also how would you tune a dry shot if you plan on spraying through the throttle body spacer? You are not spraying past the maf to tell the engine to add more fuel.

the MAF isnt what you would need to tune for the nitrous. same for the meth. the MAF just measures how fast the air is moving across it. i dont think it would ne good for the nitrous to go over the MAF anyways, correct me if im wrong.

the maf is what you use to tune for afr and pe it tells the pcm how much are is coming into the engine you adjust the maf under the airflow tab in hpt

I'm pretty sure you will have to tune for the nitrous

Our engines are very unforgiving with nitrous. . .

Trifecta GMS3 is the way to go. You can run wet or dry. Just let vince know.

No need, I see nitrous, I show up!

You can run the shot on the tune you have, but you have to do a wet shot. There is no way to run a dry shot untuned. And you should always tune for nitrous, as it dramatically changed cyl pressures and temperatures.

I personlly would never bother with a dry shot, too much hassle to get the a/f right and still keep it normal when you are off bottle. Wet shot is totally self sufficent once you get the jetting right, you will see the same AFR on or off bottle, or slightly richer on bottle like I run them usually.

For example, on my 350z, I have the car tuned for a constant 11.8 A/F on motor. When I hit the spray, it's adding enough fuel (wet shot) to burn with the extra oxygen from the N20, so my A/F stays a 11.8 after the spray comes on. Or I can push harder N/A, say 12.5, and run the jets a bit richer, so when I spray it drops down to the 11.8 I want on bottle.

You can run up to a 100 shot safely if you tune for it on a stock engine. Any more than that is just pushing the power limits of the stock pistons. I'd suggest staying under 75 and making the power in other places, car will be nasty anyway. With the design of our intercooler systems you will get a nice cooling effect from the nitrous, but a larger shot doesn't increase that, so it's kind of a diminishing return as you go larger.

Let me know if there are any other specific questions I can try to answer for you.

Do you have a way to monitor your AFRs?

Cool. Your GMS3 PCM is designed to handle a dry shot. Right? The nice thing about the Trifecta GMS3 is that it can be designed as dry or wet shot. The bad thing is that only Vince can control the Nitrous stuff.

Yep.

I'm setup for a 50 "dry" shot.

Yes....

GMS3 does not affect cruise control, nor does any tune really.

Nope.

Flip the switch.

Then slam the gas. As soon as the car hits your desired settings, the nitrous kit will fire.

I have mine set to fire at 3750rpms and +90% Throttle. It stops spray 500rpms before my rev limiter. Vince can customize those settings for you.
