idle temp keeps rising?
ok... i got my zzp 2.9 in yesterday + #42's... everything is great, but, when it sits at idle the temp rises up and up and up all the way to 213*F. i shut it off right there.. but during normal driving, and even "spirited" driving it stays right in the normal 180- 188 range.
wtf is wrong with it?

Mine does that on my 2.4L, especially on the warmer days. It will go up to 214* sometimes! I think the cooling fans don't come on, cause when the A/C is on mine stays right at 190*!

when sitting still your cars temp will rise higher do to you not moving and have that extra forced air cooling the motor.. plus sitting still you and the other 50xbillion cars are like little ovens radiating heat everywhere on each other.....
turn on the Vent/Heat full blast when sitting if it bothers you and it will get alot of heat out of the motor compartment. a t-stat doesnt mean the car never runs over that temp.. that just says when the t-stat opens up to let the fluild "change" positions.
also you gotta remember this is a Cheby.... and i have never seen a chevy that ran cool.. all i have ever seen tend to run on the warm side, as long as your not up in the 240s+ i wouldnt worry about it

Your fans don't really work until after 200*. I think they are only programmed for 13% at 190* or something low like that.
I reprogrammed everyones to come on at 50% at ~185*, and both fans, not just one. Most of us see temps around 178-183* no matter what.
