Let me start out by saying, yes I have read and printed the how to on this. But I need to know the best way to support the engine. I was thinking a 2x4 and a jack stand. And btw, what is the best way to install this without the risk of bending? Thanks so much guys!

I used a floor jack with a piece of wood under the engine and was fine.I just placed the jack up until it just touched the engine, didnt jack it up all the way, just used it for support.

dont take all the bolts out at once
do one side first, then when you get those back it, do the other ones

i didnt have to support my engine at all

QFT.

Don't dig the jack into the oil pan. Just enough so that the engine doesn't move so the holes line up.

Yea I didn't have to either. Good thing too, because I had no idea I was supposed to support the engine That could've been bad...

you only need to remove 2 of the 3 bolts that go into the engine, and the 2 nuts you pull off on the mount, well the mount sits on top of the body there, so there is no way the motor can fall.

Yeah, I was thinking that too guys..maybe I can fab up something that can brace it in my driveway too..anyway do I have to use a torque wrench too? Because I see the torque ratings on the bolts and nuts, but some people just tighten them? What should I do? I do carpentry not vehicles, so I just have regular ole' country boy tools!

you dont need to support the engine. dont take out all the bolts at one time. just install one bracket at a time and you'll be good. just go out and buy yourself a cheap torque wrench(like $20), its a good thing to have around.

Check the "how-to" again dude. On the motor side of the mount, there's 3 bolts. You're only removing 2 of them. The middle one holds everything together, so you don't need to support anything.

yeah I realized that, but just wanted to make sure..it'd kinda suck to have the motor drop right in my driveway like a true redneck..lol but I'll trust ya. I've read it over 4 times too.
