Im saying the that valve springs and damper will get you to 8k.

NBS and delete is for ppl that dont care if it rattles

Mine is loud as can be but very tame in the cabin at 8k

A few extra hp wont make or break my decision

Flame on!
Problem is ZZP says you need them, and all the kiddies believe what ZZP says is the Bible for the LSJ, lol.

GM claims at 7750 rpm you need NBS.

Many on here have proven you can manage w/o them....

Just cuz its possible to rev a engine to 8k dosnt mean its safe.

That's correct to.

That's why it is advised to upgrade the valvetrain when reving high.

Ever hear of a stock balance shaft failure? I have heard the crank damper come apart, but the stock shafts seem sufficient

I know 3 ppl that have put a hole in there blocks with the stockers..

And plus they add a retarded amount of spinin weight at high rpm..

I think the thing to do is to totaly delete them.
I did the electric water pump so i can just leave the chain off the car all together.

Also i would think the oil pump gear is more prone to failure than the NBS

No thing really...it made a huge difference reving.

Im working on a cheaper oil pump potential issue.
The hardened gear is like 500$ i think.

You do a lot of imaginative things, not for everybody. Butt dyno for "huge difference revving"?

data?
some of you folks should invest in a simple data recorder, racing technologies do a very good one for about 1000.00 dollars or less.
Products » Data loggers » DL1 Mk2 / Classic » Description - Racing - Race Technology Ltd - Automotive Technical Excellence

we use this to record and review driver performance ("ya I am flat through corner one and two" "orly? Data says you had the big lift" lol) and vehicle factors, anything and everything from oil pressure traces( "oh crap oil pressure goes to 10 psi in that corner" "orly I cant look at the damn gauges when i am mid corner") to downforce pressure.( "oh wow that ricer wing generates lift")

takes the butt dyno out of the equation.
