intake questions

What intake produces a louder charger whine ? (2007 SS)

aem ? injen ? K&n ? etc....

maybe a scale from least loudest to loudest ?

also, is the hydro lock block that you can get on the aem even worth it ? Are these cold air open to the elements THAT much. And do non-oil filters better for our cars then oil soaked ones. ( CEL's )

Ive heard that the fujita is the loudest, but hardest to install... I have the injen with no problems and still a very pronounced whine I have a video of a dyno run with it so you can hear (click went to the dyno in my sig) I hear that the AEM still has good whine, and no problems too... K&N I hear fitment is great, but CEL's may or may not spring up...

cool man thanx.

I hear the box mod will do good too. But im buying a brand new 07, i dont want to cut up anything. I would like to take it out in one piece just in case i need to put it back in for warrenty issues etc.

So what about the hydro lock byepass valve thing that aem makes ? Is it REALLY needed ? Anyone have probs sucking up water with these cold air intake on the cars ?

you don't have to cut anything up buy a replacment filter and leave the bottom of the airbox off thats it

What about the elements how exposed is the filter? whats the chance of water getting in the intake? Hydrolock is Bad for the health.

I ran the airbox mod for over a year and recently installed the Injen and it's much louder!

Also, all you folks worried about CEL's from an intake need to get your PCM's updated by the dealer. They will do this for free under warranty and your lean code problems will disappear. There is a TSB out for the problem, I forget the number. I used to get lean codes in colder temps with the airbox mod. No more after the update.

yeah i have never even heard of a cel problem from adding an intake until i bought my cobalt. so like myo said it shouldnt happen, so i wouldnt even consider cel as a factor when trying to choose an intake. if it does happen take it to the dealership like he said
