You mean a $500 core charge. The $200 core charge is for the snout....

So does rob's car have the 2.5" pulley and 60lbs/hr injectors? or are they still 42.5lbs/hr?

i would LOVE to believe that. but ppl that come here from sea level have some major problems with their cars (assuming they are custom tuned)...... there is less oxygen and a significant hp decrease.

there are quite a few STi and WRX shops here that offer high altitude tuning.... so for me to believe that an intense kit works flawlessly at 7k ft takes a lot of convincing.....

now, if i am being ignorant. or i am incorrect, plz point this out and i would be more than happy to order a kit from Intense. i support you guys 100%. the money back offer helps, but i would rather not go thru the hassle if the tune does not work where i live.

on that note, any of you guys at Intense feel like flying up to colorado (via your expense) and tuning my car for free.... so you can get a baseline on altitude tuning? (j/k) :P

Obviously boosted cars will make less power at higher elevations due to the things you describe, but no amount of tuning is going to put more oxygen in the ambient air. What Scott said is true. Your fueling curve will be the same no matter what elevation but again you WILL make less power the higher you go.

No one has really answered this question yet. Is there anyways other than shipping off my stock ECU to get around the dealer having to do the CASE procedure? I don't want them touching the ECU once it has been programmed because I really don't trust them. And I don't want them knowing the car is modified either.

HP Tuners can initiate the C.A.S.E. relearn. So if you have the cable (or know somebody that does) you can initiate the relearn. Also many aftermarket shops with a REAL scan tool (not just a code reader) can usually initiate C.A.S.E. as well. Canadian Tire????

would you only reccommend stage 5 for non daily drivers? or will it be fine as long as you dont boost it constently? im looking to get it but alot of people are getting lower stages, was just wondering why? why not go all the way?

i think the only problem the people with the 2.5"mm pulleys and 60lb injectors is broken axles....hmmm

What is the possiblity of being able to purchase a "flashed" ECM with whichever stage you prefer, "ala carte"? I mean if one were to have the injectors and pulley already and just wanted to get the ECM.

this case/pcm is kinda getting me..

so if we send you our pcm to be tuned then we will only have to do the "in drive way" procedure when we get it back... and if we get a PCM from you and we send you ours as a core... we will have to take it to GM for them to adjust it?.. just need this clarified

Does 87$ seem like a good price for the case learn thing.

That's about it. If you send YOUR PCM to them, when you get it back- your old CASE values will still be stored in the PCM, so it wont have to be done.(possibly the theft deterrant relearn-but THAT you can do yourself following the procedure Intense provides)
BUT If you get a new PCM from Intense, then it will need to have the crankshaft variation relearn completed so the stored/learned value corrrectly matches the amount of error that exists in YOUR car. Most "trade grade" scan tools can do it. So it doesnt have to be a dealership. Look for shops that say they can do GM SPS (Service Programming) as then they likely have the neccessary experience.

A lot of shops will have a minimum flat-rate charge for this type of scan tool service. (doesnt matter how long it actually takes) Sounds like your quote was a minimum 1hr. I would keep looking. Maybe try a few smaller private AC-Delco shops, which should have the necc scan tool, capable of doing the crankshaft variation relearn for CASE
OR
Find someone in your area with HP Tuners as it's scanner mode can do the CASE relearn on any LSJ

quick question: now that you,ve completed the stage kits for the cobalt ss and ion redline, do you plan on making similar products for the 2.2 ecotec cavalier or sunfire with the GM s/c kit ?

I know this has been answered for stage 5. But how much is install for stage 4. Im assuming less because of the lack of blower porting.
