Intercooler Pump Fail...Possible Culprit Found?????
With all of this talk about how the intercooler pumps fail, I decided to check mine.... Sure enough it wasn't working. WELL i noticed that when you push really hard on the electrical connector in different angles it begins to work again! This is where i am stuck i have used contact cleaner and dielectric grease on both pump connector and harness connector and still no constant connection but as i move it to different pressures and angles with my hand it begins to work and as soon as i let go it stops. ANY IDEAS?????

lightly tap the pump with a rubber mallet ... seriously it works if you have to do this more than once a month or so its time to get a new one. thats two things i dont like about our cars... ic pump sucks and its fwd. but unfortunately the stock bosch pump is the best one out there its the same as cobras use and other sc cars. and no there is no better replacement. if you dont like it run a turbo that will solve your problem

like i said if you have to do that more than once a month its time to get a new one. check daily though or get an intercepter. my car is an 06 and i just replaced mine so 4 years isnt bad for an electric pump that is constantly on

The real reason the pump fails is because it is a wear item, designed to fail once the internal carbon brushes wear away. It's probably rated for a specific # of hours total run-time, but a rough estimate is about ~2-3 years depending on how much you drive your car.
You can either purchase a new one or try rebuilding it using one of these guides:
