J-Body Performance Header
Stopped by J-body performance and bought some eibach lowering springs today...and i also got an in depth look at a prototype of the equal length 1-5/8 shorty header they are going to be marketing. All i have to say is WOW! this thing looks amazing even in prototype form only being tack welded.
the workman ship on this header is great and very well designed It is definatly a true equal length header...there is a lot of tubing. I was comapring it side by side by a un-equal length TOG header i believe and you could tell the type of work put into the JBP one. The flange is flawless and port matched to the head. The primaries are very well routed close to eachother to a 3 inch collector. It is made from t-304 stainless steel and comes with a copper gasket and stainless bolts.
of course...it being mostly hand made and t-304 stainless its going to be pricey (550+ CND)
but the best part is i was told that J-body performance would be interested in setting up a group buy of this header at a good discounted price because they would be able to get the materials cheaper if a lot of people are ACTUALLY interested (I know i am)

for updates

By the way, how was my engine looking while you were there? JBP used it to get the flanges looking perfect.

we gotta get a list or something together of those interested in this header. The more people interested the more material they buy and the cheaper it is...so more of a group discount hopefully.

I will be getting one of these headers when the engine is shipped back to me and that was my TOG that you were comparing it to.

yah I've been waiting for a while now for him to finish it. lol
as far as the long tube goes, they may not be making it any more, he said when he was looking at the vibrent one, he saw pretty much what he was going to make, so he decided not to even bothere and just sell the Vibrant peice.
in hi opinion it didn't look like it could be improved upon.
but who knows he may think up of something.

Are they ready to go? You guys talking about the prototype makes me think otherwise.

if you want an idea of the workmanship take a look at the 3.8 V6 equal length header they produce here: http://www.jbodyperformance.com/new/...catName=JP0407

dropped by to see the header since hispdpursuit said it was good. i can't believe how nice it looks. i think it blows all headers out of the water. its just a maze of tubes! who is organizing the gp?

And a cat...well minus it. Same length as all the pieces (manifold, downpipe and cat)

wow I saw the header and it puts the pictures of those v6 headers to shame.
It looks pretty crazy. I'm sure we'll se great gains from it.
