anyone else hear this one about the reflash:
Currently, Per GM, Vehicle Free Re-calibration is only valid at the dealer the kit was purchased from . So, For example, if you purchase a supercharger kit from us, and bring your car here, it will be re-flashed for free. If you take the car to another dealer, you are obligated to pay for the re-flash out-of-pocket. Generally 2 hours labor.This policy has been mandated by General Motors.
Now this is the policy for the new 2.2 j-body S/C but my buddy at parts said its going to be the same for the stage kits...now I know why I like SRT's way of including a new flashed PCM in their kits....
if you really think about it, it would make sense, if you go to dealer I(nternet) for the kit and get it for $600, get the kit in hand and then go to dealer L(ocal) to get the reflash, what does dealer L get out of it, unless GM puts a coupon in the dealer can get credit for or something...but makes you wonder...BTW I did see the bullitin about that policy above, so it is authentic...

In our case with the cobalt no such luck, I mean we can def sell parts but how do we sell a Flash program...

Bought stg 1 used before I even got the car. got car sent the pcm in for flash.
used it for couple mos, found stg 2 used, sold stg1 for more than I paid and bought 2, took pcm to dealer to update vin..
used s2 for a bit then ordered stg 3r with toys when announced, stg3r came in dec 04(got car in march) installed it at an install party I held in Jan. Sold stg 2 to guy at party for more than I paid again, currently enjoying stg 3r..
go figure!
