I see what you all mean with proper driving style and really i think im a great driver. I really dont slip much when taking off, i dont ride the clutch ever, i dont keep my foot on the pedal when crusing... yet after pulls i usually smell material!

I know I know, its exciting to hear the blower scream and hear the tires burning, but getting out of first a little sooner will lead to a happy clutch and all around run.

I've seen your wot videos.... you tend to wind out first gear wayyy too high which can lead to a poopy 1-2 shift. The 1-2 shift is where most clutch slip happens.

congrats on the tvs rice. it should compliment your build very well.

I find that the tach seems slow in 1st, so say I wanted to shift at 7600, I'd shift when the tach is right before 7k. That was always kind of my method on slicks. On the turbo I let it sit at 8K for a couple taps of the limiter so the turbo is still nice and lit when I hit 2nd.

oh not at all dude i'm with ya.
i try to get on the gas in a linear fashion with 1st, then mash the rest of the gears.
usually i actually shortshift the **** out of 1st into 2nd; the few videos i've posted are 'successful' launches as far as that goes while i'm holding a camera in one hand and shifting with the other lmao.

I granny shift 1st while recording due to fear of torque steer, ha.

As for the clutch, there is no reason a M62 or even TVS car should ever be able to get a GMPP clutch to slip unless there is premature wear from someones driving style. The power is just delivered so linear that the clutch barely even has to work to hold it. Hell I couldn't even get my stock one to slip on the TVS with 370whp except for once at the track, then I let it cool and raced it again the next day lol. I may be easy on cutches though. My 260 ft/lbs rated clutch is holding up to 600whp and 425+ ft lbs lol
get a mount they're cheap now

Adam I have to second the drive mod needed, as stated ^, I can't get the GMPP to slip even with the KO4+ torque spike (mustang dyno 380ftlbs) and it will still hold a 3rd gear 60roll (haven't tried 4th for sometime since the roads are getting shitty out here).

Idk dude but i've honestly had pretty bad luck with a lot of issues with my car. besides the track maybe ~10 times i never launch the car, sure just a few burnouts and skid launches who doesn't do that though haha. i never get wheelhop. but next thing i know the axles start shaking the car.

My clutch was installed correctly and it was no contaminated. Hell, it was slipping the first install. I took it out, sent it to KY and they rebuilt and tested it. Told me is was good to go with no issues. 1500 miles later (yes I broke it in) and the thing slips hard around 3500rpms in 5th gear.
Not only that, if you look around on here every unit engages in a different spot. Mine is at the very top along with some others while most people say it is right off the floor. The inconsistency sucks.
There should be no reason a stage 3 puck clutch with 1500 miles on it should be slipping on a T2 base tune on stock turbo...
