maybe? haha advise. i spelled it with a c above.
as much as the l61 has been a hurdle/learning experience, the factory ev6 connectors have been a plus haha.
This tvs thing is really costing me a lot of cash lmao. I have the 1.625 ottp longtube. I was told the 1.75 would only make a few peak hp difference on an m62 car, and I was n/a at the time so the 1.625 was plenty (and kept things sounding nice). I wasnt worried with the m62, but now that I have the tvs going on, I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make. the 1.75 is approx 15% bigger based on simple area, but I guess we are going to find out . It never ends smh
Maybe I should make my own thread and stop dumping in yours.... haha

You can always make your own thread but i dont mind at all! Any experience shared here helps me form my little beast as well. Im in a somewhat similar situation wishing i went with 3" cat/catback now but it is what it is lol.
It really never ends. I started out wanting to put neons on this car and an exhaust, here i am 20000 in mods later still needing a lot more to make it all work in harmony.

That header is plenty. How soon you planning on having it together? I could come up and help you with the tuning, assuming you were going to tackle it yourself?
Side note: 400mi break in? Ouch...

I bought hpt, but I've never tuned before. My original plan was to have someone tune it, or at least get a somewhat solid tune, and then be able to make adjustments myself. At least have the capability of datalogging and flashing tunes.
I'm still debating on whether or not to assemble the bottom end myself. I have never done an automotive engine, but I have the tools and general mechanical knowledge/understanding to do it. I'm going to have everything balanced, and the block bore checked and honed. I was told the longblock I got only had 1600 miles on it, and it looks the part. I mean besides checking bearing clearances and ring gaps, I cant see it being that difficult (not that checking tolerances is difficult). The head is no issue to assemble, and timing isnt an issue. I just dont know if I will be able to stay sane knowing that I might have screwed something up assembling the rotating assembly.
The one thing that truely has me worried is the stupid cam sensor on the 07-08 2.2s. I had to cut down lsj cams, and press on the sensor. I'm just worried about it hard starting because the sensor is cocked wrong. It's pretty close by eye, but it just worrys me. Josh at ottp told me if it was within 1-2*, it shouldn't be a problem, and is mainly uses for starts. any input? i'm going to try to find my old pictures from when I did it
Edit: This still has me roaring. I bought cams, and took a hacksaw to them the next day. the 07-08 2.2 guys have been on this topic for years trying to figure it out. Some dude found a guy from gm to do it a few years ago, but it cost 200 some odd bucks, and there was very little info. I finally decided to just man up and mash it on. There are more pictures of micrometer measurements and whatnot, but I only posted the relevant ones
"professional"
Stock cam/sensor:
zzp with sensor pressed on:
set in the head:
Everything came out very legit, but it still worries me. Everything lines up and fits, so it shouldn't be an issue. This isnt the best way to compare, but I used the straight line tool in mspaint to trace the tdc line (whatever you want to call it) on the factory zzp cams. looks close enough to not be life or death

When in doubt, cut them in half! Haha
They redesigned the l61s for 07, and they got a gen 2 block. The lsj exh cam just needed a few inches to fit in the head because the lsj has an extra journal. That's the one in the vice picture. You ca see how much had to come off. The lsj has the external hex driven cam sensor, and an extra journal on the intake side too, so I had to trim off ablut 3/4 an inch, and press the sensor onto the "extra" journal.
Rice, what are you planning running for fueling now that the tvs is here?

But did you get to use a hacksaw?
Awesome, thanks. I will let you know once I get everything mocked up. Ive been wanting to pull the head off for a while now, but have left everything together for random mock ups like this. I just really want to see if its just the rings, or if I blasted a small hole in a piston haha

I dont have that luxury. My stock clutch is rated for 170 ft/lbs and should slip around the mid 200's. It would let me drive the car, but I obviously wouldnt be able to do any higher throttle tuning.
Rice, on the other hand will probably be able to get away with it
