are you planning on running an ls4, or a stock tb on the tvs?

I normally wouldn't have an issue with the driveability aspect, since it isnt my DD, but I have a fidanza im debating putting on from when I was planning on n/a. I feel the combination of the two will make it nearly impossible to drive. I'm trying to decide if I should run the ls4 and sell the flywheel, vice versa. Plus I've heard that the lightweight flywheel can cause a lot of false knock readings. I've bought and re-bought so many things it's not even funny

ive seen no compelling arguments FOR keeping a nonstock flywheel, unless you are planning to use it as a track-only car.

i'm planning on running an LS4 TB. I already have a 3" intake so having it neck down to the stock TB then opening back up into the tvs just sounds counter-productive.

i too have bought and sold and rebought a million things lmao.

and only gain 50whp haha

this f23 clutch thing is killing me. zzp sells a custom drilled flywheel to use the .5" bigger lsj disk on a 6 bolt crank, but you have to buy their clutch (850-950 bucks total). and the custom flywheel is a fidanza, which I already have, but for the smaller f23 disk. but the f23 clutch ratings are terribly low

Probably lmao
10k...
Bulletproof engine, tvs and built trans. Probly at 12k already hahaa

Anyway that sucks. Im sure you can sell the FW and lose some more money haha but really anyone will tell you to just stick with an oem one.

I think I just got moderated!! ^^^^

and speaking of losing money, I just disassembled my intake manifold to drill/tap for a bleeder nipple and flip cores for dual pass. Well the cores were full of some sort of metal shavings, and rust "welded" in. I got 2 out after a struggle, and the rust wiped off no problem. Good sign! the other 2 came out easier, but still put up a fight.

yeah, well I had to tighten up the hose clamp pretty tight (because the cores were so mashed in and the clamp kept wanting to come off. Didn't want to scar them up with the clamp sliding around), and ended up flattening the ends of the cores. the rigid part of the hose clamp squared them off. didn't realize until I was done. Story of my life. I was being so careful haha

I have spare cores They ain't cheap....

Yours are PROBABLY fine though.. Especially if you use zzp's o-ring kit. It's more flexible than the stock ones.

I know they arent cheap haha. I have the zzp orings already, but the one core looks way worse than the other. I think it might even be split on the side. What a dummy, but the bastards would not wiggle out.

Im really curious to know what the hell happened to the car this came off. not sure where this much metal would come from pre manifold. Overall they looked better than I expected, minus the metal shavings and rust:

holy **** those are rusty! like they are made of copper lmao!

dude they are super sensitive. i did the trick where you put a clamp around them and pull on the clamp and two of mine got kinda crushed on the ends like that as well not quite as bad, though..

i also got the zzp o-ring kit. hoping for 0 leaks this year; also be sure to have them 'clocked' in the right position where the end pieces 'blank' spots are rotated the right way!

if your going gmpp run a stock flywheel. the fidanzas are junk imho. spec makes the only decent flywheel for these cars.

ive seen one to many problems with them to ever put them in another car. 2 lsjs where they rubbed the oil pan and another that the bolt circle was completely off.

I need to hop onto a few cavalier forums (l61 car), and see what people think, but I will most likely have it up for sale this week. Good thing a new oem is only ~90 bucks

*Picture*
That's what I did, but the cores were mash clobbered in there, and i had to keep tightening the clamp. The flat "screw housing" on the clamp is what flattened the laminova however the hell you spell it

I'll re-assess the damage tonight, and I'll let you know. Thanks

I don't think its the biggest deal in the world but every bit helps. As for temps, my car had reversed IC pump wires for years, so my temps were always hot anyways E85 so I didn't care. They really didn't even drop that much when I got them wired correctly honestly.
