hey if they are cheap enough i'm just gonna replace em. i don't wanna leave anything up for risk that is an internal tty bolt. this motor is NOT coming back out once it goes in.

Personally I would have just run it till it blew if you weren't planning on a full build. Can't push enough to break it with the M62 anyways.

Guys have run over 500whp on the stock lsj motor. As long as everything stays in check you will never kill it with an M62. I thought you were building the whole motor. Kinda seems like a waste of money to do only half of it if the motor is currently fine. Because if it ever does break, your are changing everything you replaced again. Just my 2 cents.

i heard the same lecture from sylver, i tend to agree. however i think RB and myself are kind of in the same boat. we both have limited funds. not everyone can do as big of a build as some of you. if we listen to this logic we might as well park the car til we could afford the bottom build and tvs. then neither of us would be driving the car for while. now what fun would that be?

Lol the joys of forums. Everyone has their opinions. I ran my ati last year and will with this new motor with no extended key way. It's not a common thing to bust a key way. The ati is a press on fit anyways. If you ever snapped the key way I'm pretty sure just the press on fit would keep the pump running. I'm not trying to turn this into an argument with those who run it and say it should be done. I guess I haven't seen enough key way issues to believe it's a must have mod. It's a good piece of mind tho that I would do when building a motor.

When I get around to rebuilding my bottom end, you can bet everything going in it will be new, it may take a bit but I'll patiently wait saving up for parts and making sure I have everything I need so that the new engine won't have to come out and apart again for a good long while.

sorry guys i don't want any drama here haha.
just better safe than sorry. i THOUGHT i had everything i needed already when i pulled the engine, that's why i've been talking to you guys and asking questions for the last five months.
this will probably be the last snag and we are trying to move quickly to get this pavement pounder on the road in march.
staged, did bill duncan have any opinion on the ati?

there is nothing wrong with the stock bottom end but you can destroy a block on the m62 just as fast as you can any other power adder as for the ati its not got some big omg press that if I loose the key It wont spin its just .0005 press and that is not much out of all the engines that has came through my garage 90% of them have had bent or cracked keys that is why every crank I put in an engine gets extended
