Lean check engine code...

I just got my car about a week ago... I'm fairly new at the mechanics of these cars.... So don't laugh... The p0171 code (I believe) keeps coming up.... Not every day but every few or when I get on it a little.... I have the aftermarket fujita intake so I'm sure that's why it's lean... Just don't have it tuned yet... I just want to make sure this isn't going to hurt my car. Any info and feedback is appreciated! Thank you!

Before all the haters come in here and say "OMG do ******* search NOOB"

The intake is probably causing the lean condition, or a dirty MAF sensor. Take the sensor out and clean it with break cleaner, drive for a week and see if the code goes away.

Thanks I knew people would probably hate but the post I DID search made no sense to me. So thanks. I just wanna make sure the car running lean to the point of throwing the check engine won't hurt anything on it... I've been wanting this car too long to break it! Lol

Also ive been getting this before i got the zzp tune, and i was still getting this code while using the stock MAF, changed out the stock MAF sensor out and i still get p0171. Changed fuel filter, changed plugs about 3-5000 miles ago. Had a mechanic check for vacuum leaks, couldn't find any.. Mechanic recommended fuel injector o-rings so thats what im doing next.

First off, the filter you have...is it a K & N / Oiled Filter? If so, def not good to have when you have a MAF sensor. I can hook you up on a dry filter that I run, just let me know.

Could a bad catalytic converter cause p0171? I remember before I got the tune I would get the p0420 code , and with some driving p0171, the p0420 code is removed now, so I just get p0171, and yes it's the stock cat.

How did you get the p0420 to go away? I have a K&n intake and header and catted downpipe. I got that code and the p0171 as well. trying to get both of them to clear and fixed before the end of the month. Registration and smog needs to be done next month :/
