What signs are we looking for as to determine whether or not our IC pump is failing, or has failed?

post a pic if you can.

This is true , the first time i pulled the motor apart the commutator was fine , the brushes were just worn and dust was keeping them from sliding and making contact. so i cleaned it and put it back together , once i found brushes (some 5k+ miles later ) one of the bruises had turned sideways and scored the commutator. so for some this fix will work, for others if it looks like mine did , don't expect it to last long, so far mine is still going strong.

look at the intercooler filler neck, if its bubbling churning while the car is running then its working.

Meh. I'll just spend $100 and get a new motor...

That seems like a lot of work and with a 90% chance of massive frustration.

When I tried to bleed my intercooler system for 3 hours after a OTTP exchanger install, it finally dawned on me that my pump must not be working... bench tested it, nothing! Damn you pump!!

This how-to helped me save $$ which is always a good thing. Excellent, clear cut info and great pictures. My dad and I had a blast reconditioning it... being a retired electrician, he was totally into rebuilding the motor. Anything involving electricity is of course right up his alley heh. Infact he wanted to rewind the armerature so it'd be more powerful

Thanks a million!

autozone can order one for you...

ask them for the intercooler pump from a cobaltss, ford lightning, 03-04 mustang cobra, etc.
They can order oem parts, and its an oem pump on several cars
