Low Coolant Light!!
I went out to my car this morning, and my low coolant light was on. I checked it and it was about an inch below the fill cool line. The outside temp as about 10 degrees cooler than any other day we have had since I have owned the car. I don't think that this would make that big of a difference. The dealer can't get me in until sometime Tuesday.
I wanted to know if there are any issues that I should know about, or be looking for. I have an SS/SC with stage 2. I am afraid that the dealer (who is not the smartest) will try and pin it on the Stage 2. I only have 2630 miles on the car.
Thanks in advance
Sean

My experience with this ended up being bad, so I hope yours doesn't end up the same. Refill it just a hair above the line, and drive the car a little bit. Just enough to get the thermostat to open. Check all around the bottle and just below it to see if it's in that area. My lower hose did leak one time. Hopefully that is your problem too because you don't want the final resolve I had with the coolant issue.

I'm fairly sure that this car "eats" some coolant.
so far every ss/sc onwer i've talked to has gotten the "low coolent" light but no problums were ever found.
i've gotten it a few times so i just refil it with pre-mixed dex-cool and go on my way.
the car has pressure checked 3 times for this to check for a head gaskit leak or soemthing like that and nothing has ever been found. they even put a dye in the system and still nohting.

No Coolant anywhere. I just took for a drive, and brought it to 180 degree temp.

I have a low coolant light and no leak what so ever. I put it just above the fill line as well and it has stayed there ever since. This has been about a month or so, I get the feeling there's either a computer error or the coolant level sensor is bad.

I had the DIC say "LOW COOLANT" once while I was at about the 1000' mark on a 1/4 mile track. Afterwards I checked and the coolant level seemed fine. I didn't add any and the message has not come back since.

My car was about an inch low in the tank. I am at the dealership right now typing this. I will see what they say.
There is no white smoke. I work for a parts company, so I did all the usual this morning. Looked at the oil, and oil cap (for white foam). Looked at the coolant, no signs of oil, an no white smoke out the tailpipe. I think the antifreeze fairy took it

no white smoke for me and i've had the ststem dye checked and all that jazz...no leek or anything like that...confuseis me but as long as there none in the oil and i'm not fouling out plugs...i'm not gonna worry.

I've looked in to this problem and it seems to happen when the car is parked at an angle or slope. It makes the meters like the gasoline meter and the coolant to be off by a bit. Once you drive the car and it goes away there should be no problem. If it keeps on beeping letting you know that the coolant is low then you might have a different problem

Book says should be no higher than the point on the arrow. Keep it with in that range. Inch is too low. You should not have to put coolant in it no more than 4 times in a 12 month period. If you do go to the dealership. With Stage 2 install you probably will use more coolant than a stock one

The dealer did a pressure test for 45 minutes and it held the pressure consistanty. They said that if and when it happens again, to not fill it. They said nothing about my Stage 2 either. I went to one of the "performance minded" dealerships in the area. Plus, one of their techs has a SS/SC.

It is ok for coolant to be added to the overflow from time to time though. Unless you are going through it frequently.
