If you live in Arizona and want me to drop your coolant temps PM me.

Checked mine.. I started the motor and started to loosen the cap, and the fluid started moving. Mine's good, 20k on the clock. I'll be sure to check it from time to time though

This should be a sticky.

Is there a TSB or recall on this? I would think there would be.

Report Card: Does not play well with others.

But seriously, if the pump is always on when the car is running, then why were people talking about messing around with the settings in HPT?

because you can run it at the track when the car is off. thus keeping the coolant flowing and cooling the sytem down. OR if you are smart, you have odne the reservoir swap and can introduce new cold water into the system and drain out the hot stuff while having the pump running.

What people are generally doing in HPT is enabling fans and IC pump to be on while in accessory mode, rather than letting key sit in the on position. Good for hanging out in the staging lanes between runs down the dragstrip.

dyno purposes. track purposes. bleeding air without wasting gas.

Okay I see guys, that makes perfect sense.

As far as cooling goes, I know some people have cobra heat exchangers, but why don't more people have the aftermarket heat exchangers made for the cobra?

Like a true dual-pass heat exchanger such as the AFCO Pro Series?

I had this same issue. I knew more about the damn thing than the three GM dealerships in town combined....

Took them 4 hours to replace it. My warranty expired well before this. They covered the repair for the pump on warranty, even though I didnt have it.

I did countless pulls with this condition... I did 15 runs at a track too! didnt break, just got slow as hell once it got hot. But still probably wasnt a good thing for me to do. Didnt figure it out until about a month of this happening, so maybe I got lucky.

The AFCO Pro is slightly smaller than the "large" CX Racing Ebay... The AFCO also looks to be built quite a bit better and of course more expensive ($299).

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy the AFCO as a replacement (not running in-line with the stocker) and test it out.

Well they are marketed as "replacements".

But really I don't know physics or fluids so if someone explained how or why it would make sense to run it inline I would.

Because you have 2 coolers instead of one? And Its not hard to mount the cx racing one infront if it, if thats the problem... cause i noticed its the only one that says "stock mounts" thats even worth buying ..

It would be like a dual pass but not.. you know?

1's across the top
0, then 1's across second row
0's across in 3rd

for hte track all 1's in first 2 rows

So what if My pump was to go, could I take it somewheres and get it rebuilt with stronger better parts. Would that be a benefit to me? Just a question, has anyone tried this.

For the price to get it rebuilt will probly be more than to just get a new one... my guess ..

unless you know someone who works in a shop and gets the parts cheap...
