LSJ with Megasquirt EFI

LSJ with Megasquirt EFI
I am swapping an LSJ into a Volvo P1800 and was trying to use the megasquirt system on it. I emailed megasquirt and they said due to the LSJ having a 4 tooth cam position wheel it will not work with the megasquirt coding in the program. They say i need to swap it to a 1 tooth cam position sensor. Any GM 4cyl cam sensor wheel that I can swap onto the back of the LSJ cam and be able to run the Megasquirt.
I was thinking heck why not cut 3 of the teeth off and see what happens? I figured I would see if any one was running the Megasquirt on their cars to see what they did to change to make it work
Any help would be greatly appreciated

if you plan to run COP ignition you need a cam wheel. you could run ford EDIS 4, or another option is to use a 7x crank trigger wheel mounted on the balancer (like this one http://wot-tech.com/shop/all/externa...r/prod_42.html ) and that would allow you to run gm 4 cyl dis. another alternative is to run the msd ecotec distributor, although thats a bit pricey.
im running a friends l61 ecotec (from an 05 cavalier) off a megasquirt II. luckily the l61 runs a 7x reluctor wheel, making gm dis easy. im just in the process of converting to ms2 extra, aswell as swapping from 42lb injectors to 60lb and an aluminum intake manifold. planning to push it up around 20lb boost.
