Well Steve didn't want the coatings. I personaly would have at least gotten the side coating.
Yes the IM is glass bead blasted. I taped off the ports and all that.
We chose conventional rings.
I do not know y the lifter broke. I think the piston hit the valve and the lifter was the weak point. It bent every valve in number 3 cylinder.

i love the coatings. wish the IM would stay nice. conventional rings suit me but it takes a long time for oil control rings to seat. Not sure what I would suggest for that, may build another engine differently. Yup hydraulic pressure on the lifter from that piston hitting valve etc would be extreme and break the lifter easily enough...
My whole 2.4 is powder coated like the time attack i think was. And i just picked up a Tvs 1320 that im Gona strip have balanced and polish possibly.

Ya true but i Wana have it check. Its worth the pice of mind to me. And plus its only like 60$ to have my guy do it.
Wen i asked him he said u would be surprised how far out they can be after they r used a while.

the only way the rotor pack wears is if the case needles are shot and cause contact and then it would have to happen over a long period of time not to mention your going to have to untime the rotor pack to check and upon retiming and repressing the pack back together is where the damage will occur just leave it the hell alone and run it
