MAF Tuning adjustments for 3" intake

Tuning the maf for a 3" intake seems to be a tedious task, any adjustments seem to swing one way versus the other

Anyone specifically tune for larger intake also have these same issues?

Also what histograms did you use. I set up one MAF Freq vs LTFT+STFT and have been trying to get the trims in check but AFR seems way off

Why should it be much different than stock? Thought the stock tubing around the MAF was 3"

The larger intake diameter at the maf slows the air down and it is harder to make adjustments

I have a 3" intake for 2 years with ls4 tb. Local came over and changed the parameters in my driveway for the intake only as the ls4 was already changed and has run fine since then.

Pm me your email and I can send you some of my tune files from a couple years ago.

Tune file will be on 42's, 2.8, ls4, 3" intake, header, catless 3" dp, and stock catback.

im having issues correcting MAF swings for Hockeyman's Ported Head/Stage 2 Cams/3" intake/Longtubes/M62 2.8/80#s/E85

STFTs wing from +5 to -7%

its not bad, and i think his long tube header with cracked flexpipe may be giving erraneous AFR readings at his WB

It is... but any variation from stock can alter the MAF calibration. I believe the ZZP 3" intake is completely straight from the filter to just before it makes the bend into the engine compartment.

The stock intake is angled before the MAF sensor. Changes in intake velocity can occur because of this.

Oh ok. My header has had a crack for a few years but never effected anything besides the sound that only a car person can tell. Must be the leak cause I wasnt even charged to adjust for the intake which took all of 5 mins.

The broken flex pipe can def be altering the trims.

Weld in a new flex, and retune. U should be set.

wideband o2 and all other o2 sensors are located before the flexpipe. Shouldn't alter the trims.

Jap is easier to tune that 3in intake with a AFR error % histograms.
The changes you make with this are very minor and to the right direction.

If its so hard to tune for how can a lot of people just put them on without tunes? because I know they do just like exhaust systems

Ok, i have the pro with aux inputs.
I think you have to hook up to his WB to smooth out that MAF.
Is so much easier has you already know.
